It's come to my attention we're all very demure about our own skill sets. When it comes to trying to work together that reticence might be to our detriment. Especially considering the wealth of people we have here, what if one of us is in need of a carpenter and we don't know where to go? Or a scribe, those might be handy with all the terrible meetings we have to listen to. Or a healer, even.

( A healer especially, but he is the most subtle and anyone implying otherwise needs to be quiet. )

And so, I thought it might be a good idea if we instead shared what we were good at. I can go first.

Cooking.
A pursuer of scholarly endeavours.
Passable martial arts.
Provider of wine.

If anyone needs any poetry or lessons in how not to burn water then I am certainly your man. I know these aren’t exactly the more useful of skills, but there are bound to be more capable people out there. We need to help each other in these trying times, after all.

Well, I'm mostly skilled in combat. And climbing. I do a lot of climbing. I can look at a pile of junk and tell what's worth salvaging, but also tinker around with stuff, make enhancements to my gear, that sort of thing. Persuasion? That's pretty situational. I think I'm pretty funny, but my partner's a tough nut to crack.

Do you find it strange too? How different some people are. If I mentioned qi to someone they might look at me as if I've grown a second head. And yet, so much of our wellbeing depends on it. Our meridians too.

I am Q-Lady Gilia, She Who Sings the Ocean to Prosperity.

I share bond with the Sea, its nature is my own, and mine can mould it, at times. Sometimes great, powerful things, sometimes smaller, more fine control. To that too, I know to sail, and of the way of ships, even if these are different to what I know best...

I can sing, and know by memory enough songs as to have one for every day of the year, if I must, and can do so at great length, up to many hours if required.

I additionally know all my household tasks, including cooking, cleaning, dyeing, weaving, sewing, and the field, to some extent. I know my way around sheep, goats, cattle and oxen, I know how to ride, but can walk a mile on my own if I must and have done so on pilgrimage when needed. I know my letters and numbers, to five languages and can keep stock of expenses for the care of many people as needed.

... And I dance well, if needed.

Violence reviles me, and my people banned from war. I can never, nor shall ever, pick up a blade to harm another.

He doesn't know if any of it is particularly useful to him now, household management falls to the wayside when there isn't a house to manage, but he's glad to know it. What we really need is a citadel not at the leading edge of the Storm before it sweeps through and changes everything, but the merchant only leads us into the wind and lightning, not away.
