[ it takes some time, but eventually Yennefer figures out how to use the widget she was given and starts a connection, which she wouldn't bother with if she hadn't experienced what she did with Eleven and Moiraine. so, she had some questions for the rest of the group.
unfortunately, she's all business and foregoes any proper introduction to those she has not yet had the privilege of meeting yet. ]
I'd start this out by asking if anyone has done any dream walking lately, but I think it only adds to the mounting list of fucked up things that have already been going on. So, I'll just ask if anyone has been lured up to the 11th floor by our strange and fatuous host and if so, what their experience was like.
[ That seems the best way to open things up. The conversation might not be received as well if she starts with informing everyone that her and her companions have done the reasonable thing by killing the twenty people sleeping on the 11th floor. ]
(network is part of yennefer, eleven and moiraine's plot roll. )

[he willingly went to the 11th floor, because he's nosy as fuck. the fact that he got a free wish out of it that turned out -- mostly okay was just icing on the cake]
It was like walking into a coma ward.

I mean, they looked a little beat up? And one of the other guys suggested that, like, maybe the undead got to them and drained all their energy?
Buuttt ...
[can you hear the shrug?]
Why?
no subject
It almost felt as if they were set up somehow. Betrayed.

[dinner party betrayals are what rich people do, right?]
But how? Like, did someone let the mermaids crash the party? Or did they lure whoever out onto the beach and they got jumped there? Or ... ?
[he has many questions -- and possibly some speculation, depending on what Yennefer tells him]

hope this threadjack is okay!
I do not think that our friend here paints exactly the fairest picture of Zenobius' motivations, that day.
There was a storm, out on the sea. A ship was in distress. He used the mirrors, up on the 12th floor, to signal them to shore. Unfortunately the light of the beacon caught the attention of a swarm of mermaids as well.
He did seem genuinely relieved to discover we had not allowed these men to perish with the others.
[...oops.]
definitely okay!

I have not seen the 11th floor. What did you find?
no subject
I advise staying away from it then.
[ That doesn't answer her question of what she found but maybe the warning would elude to finding something that wasn't too pleasant. ]
no subject
[Like anyone, if she was told to stay away from something, that made her all the more curious.]
What happens if you walk in someone's dream?
no subject
As for what happens if you dreamwalk, it depends. I know where I'm from that it be extremely hard to get out of the dream. Here, at least, there was a way out.
no subject
What else happens where you're from? Can you travel across all sorts of dreams and nightmares?
action; closed to Kaneki
As the day wears on, it seems to happen more often, enough for her to be able to pick him out quickly among a scattering of people. If she spots him when he's closer in proximity, he carries a box. And if he looks her way, something unfortunate always seems to happen to her.
Yes, very curious, indeed.
On her way down to the ground floor from the eighth, where she was staying in a room, Yennefer was focused on returning to Ellethia-Allayar when her eyes settled on the same seemingly young man and she lost her footing and tumbled down to where he stood. ]
Fuck.
no subject
And the more he notices, more often he sees her.
Naturally his paranoia eats at him, wondering what she wants, what she knows. Why she is always crossing his path and what she hopes to gain from it. Does she want the box, does she want something else?
Eventually, as destiny so wanted, the two meet face to face. kaneki is finally ready to ask her what she wants, but before he is able to do so, Yennefer falls. Instinctively he reaches for her, to hold her so she won't fall down the stairs ] Careful --
Are you alright? [ despite his paranoia, Kaneki still wouldn't let her just fall ]
no subject
Yennefer lets out an unladylike curse while trying to regain her footing and straighten again with his help. ]
I'm fine, yes. [ though her amour-propre did take a direct hit. ] That might have ended horribly had you not stepped up. So, thank you.
no subject
He allows Yennefer to stand and offers her a small smile afterwards ]
This whole place feels like an accident waiting to happen. [ no one has died (again, not yet) and that is surprising given how the place is ]
I have seen you around, but I don't think we have personally met before. I'm Kaneki.
