video | un: stormborn (and Drogon)
[She's at least more cleaned up than her arrival. Some of her hair is starting to grow back, but its still at that fuzz stage. Her burns have at least scabbed over and look less angry. Dany also is a bit more cheerful than before, mostly because she can come and go as she pleases and no one is looking to stop her.
Happy Dany means a happy Drogon, curled around her neck and trying to sleep despite his mother's unprompted video. Now that she finally has the hang of this, she can do a few of the things that had been on her mind.]
Good day. [There's a small rumble and hiss from Drogon as smoke curls from his nose. She places her hand on his head.] I'm in need of some volunteers today. It's a bit difficult when I'm still learning my way, it means I must still rely upon others for help. Given what is needed today, it would be much appreciated if I could acquire any that are strong, skilled in arms and with their hands, as well as any that know more delicate arts such as sewing.
First, I am looking to organize a small group to join me in a mission of good work. There are a number of homes and businesses that need repairs and the more volunteers means the sooner they can be habitable again. Many of the refugees and sick need blankets and fresh clothes. I know that Lady Vannozza meant to make a donation, but active work like this is no less important. If anyone wishes to join me in making bread or soup for them as well, I know it would be appreciated.
[She's a bit sheepish with this last request.]
I mean as well to venture a bit further out of the Citadel as well and would appreciate another with a weapon, as I lost mine in coming to this world. My dragon is too confined at times in the city and he needs room to fly and hunt.
[Which is the excuse, not the real reason.]
I'd like to at least get a look at the Undead, to see the threat for myself.
Thank you.

[Sitting around and just hearing about them aren't enough. She needs the image in her head.]
If we can get to higher ground, it would give us enough distance and also allow me to see what I need.

It isn't a swift jaunt across the gates, you know. You risk being spotted and caught if you near their army. Especially with a dragon drawing attention.
Please...be cautious.

I can do it again.

[ If that Targaryen and her cockiness gets him killed, there will be seven hells to pay. ]
Will you calm me with news of your success, when you return? It would be cruel to leave me with my worry.
but what is Jon’s definition of “too foolhardy,” lol
You don’t have to worry about me.
[It’s touching that she does, even if she remembers none of their time traveling through the North gathering support, or taking Winterfell, or any of it. But he is no child. If he thought the expedition too foolhardy, he’d set himself to talking Daenerys out of it.]
super comforting, jon!
[ You're all I have left, she should say, but she doesn't. He could go and die for real this time, and still she only dares to share part of herself. Perhaps it's her faith that he will be fine, or perhaps it's her denying that Sansa is still part of her.
She'll have a couple of shirts in the local fashion ready for him outside his room upon his return. For now, it's the best way she can share her affection and concern without being obvious in the public eye. ]

Are you ready? (To go now? Achilles doesn't like cooling his heels when he could be getting a closer look at his - their - enemy.)

I miss my Silver. She was fast like the wind and could jump fire pits.

She doesn't trust that her expression will remain neutral, as she's still too alarmed by what this woman represents...not to mention the dragon right there on her shoulders. Lady Mockingbird tends to offer everything in written missives, anyway, so it's really nothing personal. ]
It may take more time than you realize to gain a glimpse of the army; time that would be taken from the charitable acts you also broach, given that it appears as though you cannot ride your dragon. Would it not be better to focus your efforts on one task in which you can provide the most change?
I have been bringing food and blankets to those who suffered most from the battle, though I can offer little in the way of building reparations, and it is slow going. Should you wish to accompany me, you would be most welcome. Your dragon as well, if he is tame.
He is rather stunning.

Perhaps as well, I'm not used to so much free time before me.
I would be grateful for the company, so long as you won't be bothered to some of the response that we meet. You will understand when you see it, but I have a tendency to attract a large crowd.
Drogon [...] can be capricious, as most dragons often are. He is a bit more under control, but a child with a temper will still have moments of lashing out, even with the strictest parent. I have the means to calm him.
Thank you. He was larger before I arrived. I finally could ride him, but coming here, he's reverted back in size.

She's glad the dragon isn't as big as he used to be, in this case... Especially if he has a temper. ]
I admit to lacking knowledge of dragons and their natures, beyond stories told in childhood. I never thought to look more deeply into them, though now I wish I had. No doubt having their size altered would upset any arrival, however, so I offer my sympathies on such a matter. If you can promise he won't endanger those we seek to help due to this temper, then I will trust you.
Shall we meet upon your safe return, then? I am certain help will still be welcome.
no subject
I can promise you that I will do all I can to not let him hurt anyone. He obeys more than he used to and I have taken him out several times since arriving. The people know him and don't crowd him as they did when we were brought here.
Of course. There is an offer for someone to accompany me. Tomorrow might be the best time for us to meet?
no subject
Tomorrow will find me ready to greet you with what little we can carry between us, and give me time to make request of the kitchens. If you ask for Alayne at the entrance to Macaluso's wing, I will not keep you waiting.
