For those who have heard of and are trying to find the snake-woman some villagers have mentioned, I have some information: it seems she is a "mother" and is looking for her child.

I do not know what she is and what her child looks like and I also do not know if she is dangerous, but given she prefers to flee than to attack, I suppose that says something about her. [ but then again, a lot of people wouldn't care, would they? She looks different and that's often good enough.

But Kaneki is not about to go on a moral rant about this ]

You can do as you wish with this information, naturally. [ he will judge you if you decide to hunt her ] But if anyone wishes to help her, I'd like to try finding her child or aid her somehow.

[ why, you ask? because Kaneki has shit loads of mommy issues that's why. ]

Near the wells, but villagers all point to different places.

From what I understand they claim she is stealing human children for herself, but I'm wondering if what happened to those children may have happened to hers.

What, as if she is taking the children in revenge? Or as if something else is stealing them?

Or perhaps she is being forced to do something in order to retrieve her own child.

All of them are possibilities. I am interested in investigating each, though.

No, you're right about that. Being a mother alone is not enough to make someone a good one. That level of searching might show signs of, at the very least, capacity for love.

It does. Even some human mothers would not go that far. [ some human mothers are unable to choose their own child's happiness over other people's. But kaneki doesn't say that because that would be projecting.
