( they have no idea what's coming. she still doesn't know what they're really dealing with, either, when it comes to the merchant. thinking of the merchant inevitably leads her to the next train of thought. she'd been meaning to broach this with him. you'd best be sure she's making this conversation private. )

I was wondering if you had a chance to speak with her beforehand.

No. I don't know when she left or what happened.

I'll help you look for her. If that asshole did something to her...

Something about it just doesn't sit right with me.

Neither does asking the Merchant what happened to her. Do you think one of us knows something?
