[ Cassian is perched just outside one of the furthest tents of the caravan, out of the blazing sun as he reads over the vellum scroll in his hands several times, trying to memorize it. Only once he is done so does he put it away and pull the silver pendant out of his clothes to send a message to the rest. ]

So, I am still fairly new here. Finding my feet.

Surely there is a way to be useful? A way to earn a credit or two?

I’ve heard that there are things in the desert, that can be found by those with sharp eyes. But are they even worth the retrieval, I wonder? Who would even want them?

If that's not on Earth or anywhere near it then I'm afraid not. It's fascinating how this place keeps bringing in people from all over. What's Morlana One like?

It’s not. As far as I know, Earth doesn’t exist in my universe.

Morlana One is an industrial moon. Water, factories. Not much else anymore.

What is your version of Earth like? Have you seen anything outside it?

( hearing that earth doesn't exist is somewhat shocking, but he has to remind himself that he's dealing with people from multiple universes here... )

Earth's beautiful. It's got a suitable environment for us to live in, so we're lucky. We've also got a moon, but no one's ever been there. Not yet, at least. I've never been outside of Earth. It's 1962 where I'm from. What about you? Do you travel much outside of Morlana One?

My year won’t mean anything to you - my calendar is based on the galactic system, not a planetary one. Earth is very young, compared to my galaxy.

I travel all the time, yes - [intentionally and not so intentionally] - I barely step foot on my home planet anymore. But it’s been a long time since I’ve been somewhere I can’t get a ship or a flight off the planet. This one is very remote.

Travel is rather difficult around these parts. Some time before I ended up here, I think they were all traveling by sea on a ship with pirates. Someone even ended up in the ocean upon arrival. It's a good thing they could swim. Anyway, supposedly the way to get back to where you come from is via some sort of beacon. I don't know if you heard about that, but there are people who have apparently gone home.

Is there anyone you know here from your world then?

No. A couple from my galaxy, we think. One from my time, one from thirty years later.

Assuming we’re in the same version of the universe.

No one I know from home.

Seems like we're all coming in from different timelines and universes. ( this is a strange place indeed. )

I don't know anyone from home here. But I am aware that there are quite a few people here who are from different versions of Earth, I suppose.

I hope you don't mind me asking, but what's the last thing you remember doing before finding yourself here? I've just been collecting these sorts of information to see if there's a pattern involved.
