y'know, our buddy wangji's post got me thinking -- what if that was a kind of in-between dimension? between this world, and maybe ours? something else entirely? i don't know -- anybody got portal experience here?

and i'm all for rescuing children usually but this is a bit of a special case

but that tends to skew his judgment a little.

I too would like to rescue all the children, provided they actually exist
and are alive and capable of being rescued.
We ought to answer that question first before doing something patently idiotic.
