I buried nails in my meridians, breaking the spiritual flow and damaging my vitals. I then removed them without precaution and with only alcohol to numb me. My senses, as a result, are quite dull and my life has been shortened exceptionally.

I wanted to die. That was also the punishment I set for anyone leaving my sect. If I didn't punish myself for leaving, how would that be fair?

As for expelling the nails, I wanted my strength for revenge. Someone close died - or so I thought - and I was too weak to fight those responsible with the nails in place.

I may not be an expert in the matter, or even familiar enough to share my opinion, but I think death is a disproportionate punishment for pretty much anything.

You might be right. I was serving someone cruel and I fear some of his cruelty influenced my decisions. Then again, I must face that I am the one who created the torture.
