[Anduin may not be handsomely pursued by ghosts under the light of the moon, but the ruins of the Fetters make a striking background. A troubled expression darkens his face.]
As some of you may be aware, conditions in the village of Ke-Waihu have worsened in the past few weeks. I have seen animals mutate from drinking springs of the dark water, and now a drought is settling on the land. Rivers and wells are drying up, forests surrounding the village have become desiccated beyond recognition, and streams of dark water that are emerging near the fields have spread corruption into the crops faster than anyone can hold back the tide.
I have heard it whispered in the village that the solution to their woes might be to return to the old ways of appeasing Ke-Sanwon. As we have already apprehended one attempt to sacrifice a village youth to the volcano as it is, I shudder to imagine exactly what such a thing could mean.
[Anduin takes in a breath, letting it out slowly.]
The witches of the Fetters believe another cure may be to hand. It would seem that the dark waters are not the curse the villagers would have led us to believe.
Hyang-Tai tells us that these waters are some result of a fertilizing cure, shared by a visiting wanderer in white, that has since... "Regressed into a primal state", they have suggested. The witches believe there may be a way to restore it, such that it might heal the land itself. The dilemma, of course, is accomplishing this goal. They have proposed chilling the dark water into icy pools, or adding it to fresh running water. Indeed, I have a -- friend who encountered a similar pool himself. He had said that, at least while its waters were icy and cold, its waters healed him of his wounds. The fox spirits were gracious enough to lead me to a remaining spring in the forest, where I was able to add a sample and revive the surrounding glade. But much more needs to be done if we are to stand a chance of recovering the whole area of the volcano from such a state, and my own gifts are in healing, not this. I must ask for your aid.
I know we are not without our resources, as small a group as we are. Does anyone amongst us have a talent with water or ice magic, such that we might be able to accomplish such goals? Or -- I am no scientist, but perhaps there are other means of reaching such an end, without the use of spells?
[His expression hardens slightly.] As much for the crops as for those who we will spare, should the village decide to take matters into their own hands.

If anyone could work icy magic I could try and bind that permanently to a container, but my talents are not in cooling.

Perhaps there are others in the group with similar talents, or spells?

And me. I could always ask her nicely. She did help to raise me, after all.

Let me know if there is anything I can do to assist.

Thank you, Wrathion.

( Let... that sink in. )
Perhaps Hermione.

She and Hermione were from the same homeworld though. You are right, Hermione is a very talented witch. Perhaps she might know a spell that could help.

I have experienced her magic first-hand, and though I cannot say I remember her using any ice spells. But then again, I have seen her transform a rock into a mattress, so I suppose anything is possible...
I understand that we are all being pulled in different directions just now -- I do not think she was with us on the journey to the Fetters. Perhaps I might reach out to her for assistance more directly.

Emilia. The mistress Moiraine. Their skill... encompasses more than destruction.
( Unlike his own. )

I thank you for your advice, Wangji. Perhaps I might see if either of them are willing to lend a hand to the cause as well. I understand that there is quite a lot going on, of late. Emilia, and her discovery in the volcano. And now with all of the excitement in Ke-Waicai...
The witches have shared ways we might be able to help, without the use of magic. But the springs and wells are dwindling fast. I do not know how long such a solution will last, given the volatility of the mountain.
Even with magic, I still wonder...
[Sorry for the wall of text, Wangji. He is.
Worried.]

First, wegive thought: isolate or herd away villagers?

They may have come to me for advice, but that does not mean that they have listened to it. I have only been here for so long.

This is not my home. These are not my people. But I feel for them. What would I do, in their place?
It is not an easy decision to make.

after a pause to think...
I cannot in good conscience advise these people to abandon theirs. No matter what the cost may be.

I do not yet know what we might do to solve this problem, but any and all that might be able to help...
Even without magical abilities, it is possible to turn the water back into the cure by adding it into fresh running water or active wells. Perhaps... Do you think you might be able to locate either of these things?

[Because. Because we're getting out of here, right? Please say that is the case.]

[Don't worry, Viktor, that's most definitely the case. Whether they head home from here, however, is another matter entirely...]
In fact, the less complicated the better, given their inclination to distrust the supernatural as a whole.

[Hang on.]
I'm an engineer. My work involves the technological applications of arcane forces. It's possible I could create such a device. An irrigation system, perhaps.

[This does sound promising! Anduin ponders the suggestion for a moment.]
I cannot speak for the long-term viability of this cure specifically, but such a thing would go a long way I am sure. Provided we are able to establish a more sustainable water source...

Being that as it may, I am at your service and will offer you whatever aid that I may be able to.
un: white pawn; voice
For the moment, it would be useful to be able to locate sources of fresh water. Since we are in a drought, they are proving more difficult than not to come by. But since one method of distributing the cure is through the process of adding the dark water to a stream or active well...
I would say that for those of us who do not have any ice or water magic, that seems the likeliest place to start?
