I don't know if my magic will work well against them, but it's worth a try.

These mirrors seem to be a part of Ellethia's magical practices, if the brochure I recovered from the first part of the city is anything to go by. It's not the first time mirrors have played a part in something that's affecting the group. The sooner we learn how they work and how they come to be, the better off we may be.

As an aside would you like a hand with the deceased my friend?

Warding and talismans might have some effect, but you're correct, in that mirrors appear to be something of a collapsed city's preoccupation. And these, a magic meant to what, deny death.

More hands are welcome, between myself and the rest. The interring to the seas is happening soon.

... Have you light which gives no heat, or a way to prevent paper from dissolving in water?

If we can find out how they're made, we may be able to figure out how to unmake them, as it were.

Light without heat, yes, as much as you need, as for the other thing I'd have to play around with a few charms first.

Mm, meet me in the bottom floor, I'm set to folding paper lanterns for water. At the least, we can let them shine for as long as possible. As for learning of the mirror's making, yes. Or we can also, seeing them now, seek to seal and work backward best as we can.

Perhaps we need a piece of mirror to experiment on too.

My son's saying much the same, and I recommend we work with him and my husband in kind to figure out a safer way of handling them. The mirror shards are compelling enough on their own, if that hasn't been made apparent.
