[when the feed clicks on, Wrench shifts to one side and then the other in it, as if he's looking at himself in a mirror -- and all things considered, he may very well be. either way, though, he stops after a beat, and addresses his adoring public in earnest, the mask jumping back and forth between (>_-) and just a flat out (-_-)]
Sooooooooo, I may have made a terrible life decision. I don't feel any different, but uh ... you know that floor in the lighthouse with the creepy warning about wishes and making them? Yeah.
[yeah, he really went there. for the next 24 hours he's a cheap knock off of Peter Petrelli from Heroes]
Anyone wanna come help me figure out what my maybe-probably new super powers are?

Still got all your parts?

[he makes a show of posing again, figuring that Slick will stop him if anything looks off]
I mean, like I said.
[he really doesn't feel any different??]

[A beat.]
You're not stuck in a lamp, are you?
no subject
[he makes a show of looking around again, though this time, it's less about figuring out what's changed for him and more to make sure this doesn't look like the inside of a Pokeball or something. either way, after a beat, he looks back to the 'screen']
No cool new jewelry, either.
[don't worry. he didn't accidentally turn himself into a genie, wishing for phenomenal cosmic power]

[Akira props his head up on his hand.]
So what did you wish for?
no subject
[not really, but he couldn't resist. (^_^)]
Nah, I'm just fucking with you.
Seriously, though? Super powers.
[being the only person here who doesn't have magic or powers wasn't really doing much for the issues he already had]

[Yeah, he knows. He can tease Wrench right back, though, and he answers the mask's face with a smirk.]
[He frowns at Wrench's actual answer, though.]
And you didn't immediately explode? This place isn't as terrible as it could be.
[Also teasing. Ish. He's glad you didn't immediately explode, Wrench, but that was a terrible plan.]
no subject
[but anyway!]
But yeah, no. I knew it was a bad idea, going in, considering the creepy etched in bloooooood warning or whatever, but. [but Marcus wasn't here to talk him out of it, and he's felt on again off again useless, compared to everyone else. never mind the fact that that's mostly in his head -- he's contributed more than a few times, despite being normal]
no subject
[There's a thought.]
Maybe a little. So has anything happened so far? Besides not exploding?
no subject
[he would absolutely try, regardless]
But nope. [disappointed!] I haven't exactly tried to kill a yak at 200 yards with mind bullets, either, though. [maybe he should??]

[it wasn't that bad, actually, but it was still unsettling, all the same]
There were a bunch of unconscious dudes in there, who looked like they'd met with the business end of a zombie.
[and because everyone keeps giving him shit for calling them zombies and because this might be serious, he corrects himself]
Lost a fight with the undead.

[if only because it looked to him like a zombie attack, not a vampire attack, say, but. well, who knows how the undead actually work? all he has to go on is fiction from his world]
Yeah, maybe.
I'd go back and, like, IDK, try and figure it out, but I don't wanna press my luck.

[then he did think of that. yay!]
Wonder if it was the mermaids.
I mean, IDK if they're capable of draining someone like that, but they're also the creepiest thing around here.
Besides the weird death-rebirth cycle thing, but that kinda stopped, once we got close to the lighthouse.

No, but seriously, I wished for super powers, like everyone else. I was getting kinda tired of being the token mundane.
[despite his lack of control over anything he manages to pick up, he's going to be a little disappointed to learn his wish doesn't last more than a day]
no subject
And you were granted this?
[ Just as simple as that? ]
no subject
I mean, like I said, I really don't feel any different?
But I also haven't tried to, like, actively kill a yak from 200 yards away with mind bullets, yet.
[he really wishes he had some indication of what he could do, now, so he knew where to start. maybe he should have been more specific??]
no subject
[ Surely there was something? ]

But okay, hold on a second.

Hey, dude. [a beat] Hold my beer or whatever, 'cause we're doing this. [he's going to try, now, to kill a yak at 200 yards, and so the mask jumps to a (>_-), the expression reading as focus on his part]
[and for a moment, unfortunately, nothing happens]
[for a moment and then Wrench is gone. poof!]
[a distant shriek of ohhhhhh, shit! follows, and then he fwumps into the sand, facedown, like he just fell from a height. he did just fall from a height, having teleported a few feet above where he was standing. his only saving grace seems to be that he wasn't expecting that and didn't tense, saving himself from potentially broken bones]
[but anyway, he lays there for a moment before, without pulling his face out of the sand, waving a hand at the camera. and strained, muffled, he announces:] I'm good. I'm fine. This is fine.
[hold his beer, indeed]
no subject
Fascinating. ]
And you had no ability of any kind before this?
