(text) un: man's greatest treasure
Hello, this is Hermione Granger - you will hopefully excuse me for not using the video component of these fascinating crystals, but I find it easier to string my thoughts together in writing.
I have been thinking about potions. In the world that I come from, we have a number of them that are capable of doing many things, from healing to sobering up to allowing someone to be someone else for a few hours. They were developed by very fascinating and smart witches and wizards, however it was with local ingredients, shall we say?
I would wish to try and write down the ones I remember by heart, by dint of having brewed them so much. The question is, once remembered, would they be of any use, if the ingredients here are not the same? And more importantly, how would I test them for efficacy if not on myself?
Maybe a better use of time would be to learn to brew the ones that the local witches came up with, but I am not fond of their brand of magic - and there is the matter of cost, of course.
On that note, does anyone want completely useless corsets? Wear them or burn them, at this point I doubt anyone would care, but as tensions towards magic-wielders grow I reckon I should start pretending to be that bloody modiste.

My projects are usually quite... specific in nature, but I suppose you'd say crafting and enchanting powerful items. Sometimes weapons, sometimes gems or cloaks -- though I have dabbled in more mundane things too.
[ He made a nice bag once. ]

I've not met someone who enchants magical objects so far, not really - well, a wandmaker. You must be so smart.
[That's sarcasm. This is payback for all the explaining potions to a know-it-all.]

It takes a great deal of study to perfect, I find myself particularly curious what unique properties this land might provide. Stabilising and imbuing properties requires time and patience, and often a degree of trial and error. The metals, threads, and stones common to this area might already have some innate properties that make them good catalysts -- however I am not entirely sure how long we might reside here, given the climate.
[ It's an explosive climate. They might be here a week then be exiting, pursued by guards. ]

Something I am quite prepared for, I assure you.
Are you intending to go seeking your herbs?
[ Will there be a... herb heist? ]

In due time, I expect there will be that.

I would be curious of the results should you begin these experiments. A record of local materials and their potential uses would be beneficial to us all.

[ Ah -- and the use of her name does make him realise he hasn't given his.
Does he want to give his?
This place so far hasn't had much familiar in it. He could use an alias, but people normally get upset when he does things like that. Perhaps more useful to use his own name, anyway, as then he'd be able to spot anyone who recognised it. ]
You may call me Wrathion. I've been invited to assist Macaluso.
