Things are not that easy here. However things work where you are from, it's probably very different.

Are you saying gods are hopeless? Helpless? I almost want to see that.

We're not completely helpless, but some of the forces in this world definitely affect us. I don't really know how or why yet.

I don't think you would have heard of me. My people used to call me the Flower Crown Martial God, a long time ago.

Well, I did like flowers, yes. My official statues had one. And fighting too. I became a god because I fought a demon.

If only that were a possible path in my world. You must be born a god or you are condemned to mortality. I would fight twelve demons for the chance.

Honestly, it's not all it's cracked up to be. Plus the thing is, when you can become a god, you can also lose that and not be a god anymore. It works both ways.

Gods aren't actually immortal. They're just very, very powerful, so unless something more powerful than them takes them down and as long as they have followers, they can maintain their power.

In your world, maybe. I can't imagine that applying to Zeus or Athena. (It's laughable, really.) My mother would be very upset with you for saying that.

You could lose all of your believers, for example. Or a more powerful god, or a demon, or a ghost can kill you. Or you can be banished from heaven, although that doesn't necessarily make you not immortal anymore, you just can't go back.

... That's just where I'm from, though. Most people I have talked to, apparently their gods are immortal for good not just for as long as they can maintain it. We call that 'immortal' because it's easier as a concept.

I see, I see. (Things that are easier to obtain aren't nearly as shiny.) Which way do you prefer? Temporary immortality that can be obtained by mortals or lasting immortality that you must be born to acquire?

... That's a bit of a pointless question, isn't it? I'll only get to experience the one I'm familiar with anyway.

But I think, in general, things that are eternal are not good. The world needs to change and evolve, Things can't remain the same all the time.

Certain gods can be a little testy at times, but I don't, don't worry. Not about those things.
