[As usual, please ignore the ... background noise. Moran has tried to find a quiet place to speak from, but some of the noise is from the network, not his surroundings, and he'll be speaking through most of it without paying attention to it.]

With the news that our good friend who freed us from our chains gave us, I think we might need to hasten our money gathering. We have been doing alright for living expanses, but if we wish to accumulate the amount he mentioned, it will take more than that.

I'm not sure how we can do this short of robbing a bank, though. Does anyone have any good ideas?

[ He is looking at him. It's hard to place him in the timeline, but he seems intelligent enough. Willing to see the bigger picture if it's presented to him. Between the way he reacted to Five's appearance and the distinct lack of skepticism in his voice, he actually seems encouraged. This might work out.

He's taking several leaps of faith, but he's considered the options, and this is what he's left with. It's not like he really needs them all to stay on board to the end. Just long enough. ]

Exactly. You don't have to worry locating it, I already have. [ He's been all around this little city, taking notes, and deciding on what he's about to suggest. ] It isn't hard to spot the building once you start paying attention.

[ He'll show him too. Suddenly he's all about teamwork when it serves a purpose. ]

And they won't catch me. [ It's worth saying. ] We can work out all the details. You have friends here, don't you? How many of them want to get out of here?

I have no roamed the city too much apart from the market district and our immediate neighborhood, I am afraid. You probably attract less attention, to be quite honest.

[Almost no one would pay attention to a smallish teenager walking about in a city such as this.]

You sound very confident. Are you planning to go in an out the same way you arrived here?

And I would wager all of us who suddenly found ourselves here would rather not be here. We are only surviving thanks to the generosity of some people who will only be generous as long as they get paid. Our odds aren't exactly good long term.

[ Funny, when he was this age (the first time), he used to stop bank robberies. Part of him always knew he could do it better. And it really does seem that easy.

He smiles and sticks his hands in his pockets, leaning forward slightly. Yes, he is very confident, at least on his end. ]

More or less. [ And it says something that he's not worried about divulging this to him when he was too paranoid to say it over the network. He's just as confident about dealing with betrayal. ]

That's why I'm offering, before someone else gets a bright idea that doesn't go as smoothly. [ He starts pacing again, now that he's inviting them. However many 'them' end up being. ] So. Small amount of prep work. Nothing too difficult. We'll need to get the timing right, but it's mostly the heavy lifting I need a hand with. Do you think they can handle that?

I am sure we can find people to handle that.

... And maybe, a few guarantees for our more moral-conscious companions. Let's not empty small chests, or completely clean out any single one. And once we know more about what's inside, it's probably best to stick to coin and maybe small gems, nothing that might require reselling or that might be easily identifiable.

[Minimize objections, and minimize risk.]

[ His eyes narrow just slightly at those terms. He's not sure exactly what he's going to find down there, but he's at least... listening. ]

You can reassure them however you like. We don't need anyone turning us in after the fact. [ If anyone tried, after the effort he's putting in, he really might kill them. ] They don't all need to know. A handful of people you can trust should be enough.

If you think you can convince them, we'll have a meeting.

They won't turn us in. Doing so would endanger them as well. They are looking for all of us.

[He's going to gloss over the 'trust' bit, because well... There's only one person here he trusts fully, but needs must and there is no time to hem and haw about it.]

Shall we provide a bit of distraction while you do whatever you need to be doing to go in and out?

[ In this instance, he's using the word 'trust' loosely. 'Trust to be halfway competent' is enough for this.

He nods, thinking it over. ]

I'm not sure how heavily it's guarded on the inside, but there could be a need. [ Smiles when he looks up; he's saying all the right things. Which is surprising, really, after days of being talked down to because of this stupid adolescent body. ]

There will be some back-and-forth. I can only carry so much at a time. [ Considering as he goes. ] Some inside, some out for guarding what I bring them. Enough to disperse once we're done. Couldn't be simpler.

[Listen, Moran's county almost suffered mass genocide because of someone possessing the body of a six-year-old. he knows better than to underestimate people because of their looks. Besides, you have powers that feel like that of a Star Master and that deserves respect no matter the age.]

Three teams, then. Eyes inside could be useful in case we somehow raise the alarm.

[ That sounds feasible, and he actually takes a moment to raise his eyebrows and take stock of how logical he's managing to sound. ]

Three teams. [ He almost pays him a compliment, but... continues anyway. ] You should know that if that happens, I'll be gone before anyone else. You'll have to find your own way out.

I'm sure you've all got your own talents that can be useful if anyone else falls short.

[He used to govern a country and command armies, he can strategize a bit.]

We'll find a way. the town will be teeming with foreign merchants. It'll be easy to pose as one of them, and have a few bodyguards around for protection.

[ Okay, he's just going to say it. ]

You know, I might have sold you all short. I'm not used to anyone catching on so quickly.

Oh? Then I have to wonder about the company your normally keep, young master.

[He opens his fan.]

I have never stolen anything in my life. But I have made a lot of plans, many of them involving a lot of people. And more importantly, I know when to let people take the lead when they bring the most to the table.

[ Enjoy his rare praise. Not many people earn it.

It's true, he does know what the hell he's doing, more than most. Moran isn't the first to recognize that, but at least he doesn't seem as manipulative as others who pay him a compliment. Five expanded on his idea all on his own. ]

...Good. Anyway, in this case, it's about survival. As long as you can get the others to understand that, there's no reason why this won't work.

We will only bring in people who have no objections, to cut short on palabres. Those who would rather not need not put their morals in peril, after all, as long as they do not try to prevent it.

How shall we proceed for reconnaissance? We can't very well just walk in to have a look, it would be too conspicuous.

[ That sounds more than alright with him. As much as he enjoys arguing, it takes up too much time, and he's not going to be the one who bends.

It's refreshing, almost. This feels like a conversation between adults, and Five relaxes into the idea. He brings up a good point. Especially given the heightened awareness of their group. ]

I've started to take notes from the outside. We can get a feel for how often they rotate security without getting close.

A better view of the layout wouldn't hurt anything. ...I'm not sure we can get our hands on something as useful as a map unless we make other contacts.

[ The unasked question is if he has any. Not entirely necessary, but it would cut down on how many jumps he has to make if he knows exactly where he's going. Not to mention where the guards are stationed. ]

We'll need to ask around and see if any of our recruits have ideas on how to do that. Who knows, maybe someone else might be able to do something with their abilities that we cannot.

[Some people have been pretty straightforward with what they can do, others prefer not to say, but suely if it helps, they will say something.]

[ He nods again, slower, considering what he said earlier. ]

Anything’s possible. [ Don’t get sidetracked. ] Right. We’ll have a meeting. You can start with the ones who already contacted you and go from there. I’ll work on the rest.

Excellent. We'll manage to make something happen, it seems. I was not expecting that, but it's rather exciting.

[He's never had to earn money before, and he's certainly never stolen money before. It's pretty exciting.]

[ He's about to leave him to it, but his eyes snap back at that last word. ]

Exciting? We're doing this because it's absolutely necessary for our survival. Don't forget that.

[ Shaking his head, he starts for the door before he botches the whole deal. (Young people...) He's forcibly calmer when he looks back. ]
