[For some reason, the person making this post is wearing his mask already. Surely someone must have explained that this network is private? (They did.)
He's also not actually dressed to blend in with this place, still wearing his white cultivator robes.
Even with the half-mask on he looks quite elegant...in contrast with the deep scowl his mouth was set in.]
Are there clothes here that aren't so...tight? [Especially around the legs! What kind of clothes are these!!] And I would like to know why there's an entire district of this place dedicated to necromancy? Isn't that sort of thing dangerous!?
[He sounds mad. Partly that's because he's concerned and that automatically means he defaults to being mad. But it's also partly because he woke up in the necromancer's district to people poking and prodding at him and he didn't like that at all.
Either way, those things combined just make him more mad.]

On the whole, in case lady Karsa has not explained when you were provided with the tool for this conversation, we are being brought here possibly to strengthen the undead with our additional abilities, and it is preferable that we do not die, as then we do join their number and make them stronger.
To that effect, we are sometimes assigned tasks, on the whole so far they have been to get coin in order to facilitate getting us to a portal which can send us home. Sometimes, limiting the influence of the undead and the threat they pose on the living is... preferred, although not necessarily asked of us outright, from what I have gathered from conversing with the Merchant.
I do not know exactly why we are being assigned the tasks we have received, but until we know more, it is perhaps ... wiser to comply.

He looks confused because since he knows he's not good looking that's really the only way to interpret that statement.]
I know that! [He scowls but he's not...exactly angry though he certainly looks it.] Still, these assignments...at least mine...it's a little ridiculous. What part of me even seems like a sorrowful and sweet gentleman?
no subject
Then he raises an eyebrow. ]
An assignment different from who you are will aid in concealing your actual activity which might alarm people. Coming from a different world and all that. There are some who can accept that, but a whole city... that is, citadel, might not be as easy. And you do look a gentleman, and we will be wearing masks most of the time. That can go a long way towards giving the appearance of sorrow, and even sweetness, whether or not you feel either at a given moment.

[Since he has exactly 0 sweetness, and that's frustrating because Chu Wanning has always been the sort that, if he chooses to do something then he aim to do the best he can, and this...this he didn't think he could pull off.]
no subject
Unless you truly lose your temper, I think a well-mannered gentleman as we know it can easily pass as sweet and sorrowful, but perhaps a few pointers might make it easier for you.

[He doesn't want to admit he needed help. But he also...sort of did? He frowned, before his expressions smooths back into something more neutral. When he thought about it, he's completely new here so it wouldn't...hurt to get a few pointers. But surely he can figure those pointers out by observation.
He studied this person for a moment. He did look like someone who would know how to act sweet.]
But perhaps we could speak some more. I am...new to this place.
[He thinks he's being clever.]

Xunxian inclines his head with a bright smile. ]
Of course. Neither the tea nor the wine here are what I am used to, but I believe I can offer a not too distasteful selection of either.
no subject
Where can I find you?
[This is not a friendly visit he is here to observe and learn!]
no subject
[ Probably a bird. ]
no subject
[Not because he needed one but because he's curious.]
no subject
no subject
[He sounds intrigued.]
How does that work?
no subject
[ Lightly, and not going into details over the devices. Not that it's not known among them by this point, other than new arrivals, of course, but Xunxian has learned quite enough to know to be suspicious of who might listen. ]
no subject
I'll come find you.
[And he wouldn't take long because he was close to there as well.]
