[For some reason, the person making this post is wearing his mask already. Surely someone must have explained that this network is private? (They did.)

He's also not actually dressed to blend in with this place, still wearing his white cultivator robes.

Even with the half-mask on he looks quite elegant...in contrast with the deep scowl his mouth was set in.]

Are there clothes here that aren't so...tight? [Especially around the legs! What kind of clothes are these!!] And I would like to know why there's an entire district of this place dedicated to necromancy? Isn't that sort of thing dangerous!?

[He sounds mad. Partly that's because he's concerned and that automatically means he defaults to being mad. But it's also partly because he woke up in the necromancer's district to people poking and prodding at him and he didn't like that at all.

Either way, those things combined just make him more mad.]

Depends, more dangerous than the undead army that sort of... dissipated when no longer currently important?

Loser pants should be easy enough to find, but generally speaking no. Might want to buy some clothes and work on something new.

In this city, the clothing is like this. Elsewhere in this world, not so much - some of us could get by well enough wearing robes. For the moment, it will need to be borne.

As to necromancy... there seem to be plenty undead warlords who rule demesnes - citadels - in this world. It would make sense for people to study the phenomenon... if that is the causality connection, of course.

Get used to it. Allegedly, "blending in" is our ticket home. So go ahead. Strip.

It's a bit different, and I do prefer my robes, but we've been told its best to blend in...

Because the places where one can make do with robes are not here. Such clothing will bar access from places that we need to be in order to make a difference. The mask, at least, might make a difference.

And you do look a bit pale, I suppose, though they really should check for a pulse. Animated dead bodies only have so much of the functionality, even though hey can be formidable fighters.

They are pretty tight, it's true... but you can put a longer tunic on top? They have those! Mine goes down almost to my knees!

Even if they are similar on the surface one isn't there usually more of a price associated with bringing the dead back to life? Or is that also different in this place?

Depends on the systems involved. Since there is a thriving necromantic community, it's easy to assume that the price paid is not quite the same, or at least, the cultural views of it are not so severe.

Still, a power to defy death...no matter how I look at it, there should be dangerous to upsetting the very laws that govern the cycle of life...

No doubt many. They probably even sell them in that area.

You very much do not look like a corpse - it's a very fetching look, in fact - but some of the undead do not look like ones, either. Perhaps if you find that necromancer again, you can ask why he decided you might be one.

On the whole, in case lady Karsa has not explained when you were provided with the tool for this conversation, we are being brought here possibly to strengthen the undead with our additional abilities, and it is preferable that we do not die, as then we do join their number and make them stronger.

To that effect, we are sometimes assigned tasks, on the whole so far they have been to get coin in order to facilitate getting us to a portal which can send us home. Sometimes, limiting the influence of the undead and the threat they pose on the living is... preferred, although not necessarily asked of us outright, from what I have gathered from conversing with the Merchant.

I do not know exactly why we are being assigned the tasks we have received, but until we know more, it is perhaps ... wiser to comply.

But I wasn't going to judge if you'd prefer skirts. I, myself, prefer them over pants most of the time. I feel like I have much freer leg movements than the stiff pants I see most men wearing. I feel it'd be a great step forward if more men embraced them!

Hmm, it is a a bit strange, but you know, 入乡随俗. We are guests here and we need to not be seen as such. They want us to blend in for now, and it's probably safer.

It feels a little dangerous to have such things for sale, but I suppose I should look before I start making judgements.
