Hey, um, hey again everyone. So I've been trying to figure out exactly what to do to help Odile - uh - woo her man as it were, and I've kind of come up with some stuff? Magic stuff. Obviously. Do I ever talk about anything that isn't magic stuff?

Ah - right. Anyway, uh -

So, some of these spells are the kind of thing where if I'm casting it on one garment, I may as well do it on a bunch. And lets be real, if we're supposed to be doing some kind of back up in a court setting - uh - no offence, but even with the new threads, most of us don't really look the part.

So here's what I was thinking. Obviously, going to focus a lot of the magic on her in particular - don't want to be stealing the show - but if it looks like everything around her seems to grow in beauty from her presence it can't hurt, right?

So bring me your clothes, and I'll spruce them up a bit while I'm working on hers. And those of you who are clumsier than most - bring me your shoes, too.

[ 'Whenever' turned out to be less than half a day since they had last spoken over the network. Carrying a pair of well-worn canvas hightop sneakers Lily showed herself into the sitting room, looking over at Fox with a cheerful smile. ]

Brilliant idea you've had by the way - if I haven't said so already.

[ Setting her sneakers down she pulled her wand from her pocket. ]

Where are yours? I'll change their appearance and then you can charm them?

[ Uncertain if 'charm' was the proper term for what Fox's magic entailed, Lily stuck with what she knew, and it certainly sounded like a charm to her, at least. ]

[ Fox looked up at her with a wide grin, gesturing for her to come over and join him where he was seated on the floor. He'd set up a few different magical arrays for this purpose - so that he could cast the same spell over and over with less effort and fewer components than if he only cast it once. He grabbed his bag and pulled out his shoes - black sneakers with thick soles that he held out to her. ]

Okay, but you gotta go slow so I can actually follow what you're doing, yeah?

I'll try to go as slow as I can, but there's a certain pace to these things you've got to keep up with, or the spell falls flat. A bit like drumming, or sculpting.

[ Lily had never done either of those two things, but she had a feeling it was a mix of both.

Realizing she had almost forgot an important part Lily reached for her bag, pulling out a book she had found in one of the palace's many libraries.

She opened it to a page with illustrations of elegantly attired people and studied a pair of shoes depicted before she looked back to her own sneakers. ]

You don't need a point of reference, but it absolutely helps a good deal.

[ Fox lit up as she drew out the book, his eyes sparkling--

And then immediately looked disappointed as it was revealed to be a book of costumes, and not of magic. Gosh darn it. ]

I'll keep up as best I can, then. [ The smile returned, warmer this time, meant just for her: ]

I appreciate this, Lily. You have no idea how many mages would refuse to let me watch their work.

You never have to thank me, the feeling's quite mutual.

[ In truth when she saw Fox in action, she thought about her sister who hadn't been born magical but would have been able to find her own power, had Fox's magic been a part of where she came from too.

To Lily, it was a wonderful thing - a skill she thought would have changed her world for the better. ]

Besides, I'm keen to see how you mean to charm these when I'm done. Do you know what you want yours to look like?

[ Moving her wand in quick, precise little swirling motions Lily began at the toe of one shoe and worked her way up, gradually changing its shape until it more closely resembled the picture in the book she worked from. ]
