They're very.... flowery, from what I manage to understand of them with the help of some of our friends here.

The language is related to that of Sa-Hareth, but seems even more antiquated than the one from the accounts book at the farm.

In all the poetry, are there any seeds of knowledge you've gleaned?

I don't know if the difference is more in age than in location. It could also be regional differences. or maybe simply these two people's style. Certain people tend to get pompous when writing love letters

Any of which could be true, certainly. Regardless, for the moment, makes me glad we're down any army leading lords of death, minus the, ah, present one. Who seems far more contained.

Oh, yes, Master Lan seemed most put out about it.

That's fair enough, Miss Catra! Reading other people's letters is indeed a trespass, though I would hope for all around forgiveness here.

I came across a few, the first I believe is from the lady Hatisse, expressing thanks that she was assigned to learn with the Sukhl and meet Arha.

In my conversations with one of the soldiers, he has mentioned the Sukhl. They were nomadic but maintained a hold on a good deal of territory, and had power over the people living there. I'm not sure if it's relevant to the current situation, but sometimes minor details are important.

The second piece I believe is part of a letter from Arha to Hatisse, telling her to be safe while the Attaryl and Bessis wage war on one another. This letter seems to have been written after the Bessis had gained the upper hand and goes on to detail how it's known that the Attaryl had to retreat to the citadel. He asks if the conclave of Taravast intend to do anything to intercede and says the Sukhl will if they do not.

So he made the initial statement that his people, the Sukhl, would take action if Taravast did not? Or at least that he'd move if the perception was no one was helping the situation Hatisse was in.

And they met through her assignment to his people, crossing paths there.

That's certainly the impression I got from reading that. I believe Arha assembled his forces in haste, my friend the soldier is very young and has mentioned that under ordinary circumstances he would not have been called up to serve Lord Arha. Whatever was happening in Taravast at the time, it sounds as though the leader of our escort gathered his forces in a rush and sped there quickly.

I would presume the reason being tied up in those letters, to whatever extent. It seems it was their means of communicating, and I don't know at what delay. I should ask the soldiers, if any are aware.

I think it stands to reason that some of them may have even acted as couriers, given the circumstances. That's a genius idea, will you tell me what's said?
