[ For once, Mo Ran's expression is serious, bordering on troubled. his eyes are shadowed, and he looks rather morose, a rare sight for him. He looks younger than his age, more like a teenager than usual. The camera starts and he takes a moment to stare at it blankly before blinking and shaking his head as though it took him a moment to remember why he was addressing the network at all. ]

What happens when someone leaves here? At least I hope he left and didn't die somewhere, if we get to leave... [ He grimaces at that thought, though he abandons it quickly, not wanting to dwell on that possibility. ]

Do people return to their homes? I was working on a farm before I ended up here, would I go back there? Do we remember what happened here?

[ He needs answers! It'll drive him mad, otherwise. ]

[ Now that is a question that Eda, much to her dismay, has an answer to. ]

I went home once, so that should clue you in that, unfortunately, you might just be yoinked back to this place after a while. [ A snort. ]

But while I was there, I lived life pretty much as I left it. Didn't remember this world at all. Which makes coming back here pretty dang confusing, I can tell you that much.

[inkfire]

So you can go home and come back. [ He pauses, thinking about that. ] That would suck, I wouldn't want to come back to all of this. Especially if you didn't remember anything. How disappointing, I was hoping he'd remember some of it.

[ She gives a small, wry smile. ]

Missing someone, huh?

[inkfire]

My teacher was here. He's left. [ he's very expressive, frowning this time. ] I want to make sure he's okay. While I never mentioned it to him, I went to hell to return his soul, and it's very important that he continues living in the world.

[traaaaaash]

[ Eda pushes air out through pursed lips. ]

Ooooh, that's rough.

It has been reassuring to know people don't die here and do return home.

I should think we return home, yes. [ There's a pause for tact as he debates getting involved, then, ] Would you like help looking for your missing friend?

I haven't had any luck finding him, but if you want to look for him.... [ he shrugs ] Can't hurt.

[lanclan]

If you suggest some places he might have gone I can double-check for you, at the very least. What was his name?

Chu Wanning. Beautiful man, wears white. [ which describes more than one person here ] He's been missing for a month. He tends to get busy and distracted, but I can't find him anywhere here.

[lanclan]

[ The 'beautiful' adds a small smile to his concern, wondering if the honesty in that description isn't born of desperation and therefore closer to the nerve than this young man would want to reveal. ]

I'll search for him tonight, that way you'll know someone is out there and you might be able to rest better.

You're the young man I met before, if I'm not mistaken. The one who wanted to ride my sword?

[inkfire]

He can be rather mean sometimes, so if you find him, it's better to cajole him with treats than yell at him or demand something.

[ He grins, obviously pleased. ]

That's me. I don't have a sword with me, so I haven't ridden one in a while.

You haven't found one in all the time you've been here? How have you defended yourself?

The Merchant tallies our lives jealously. He would have condemned a loss.

So he wants to make sure we're all accounted for and able to do his biding.

He's the smartest person I know.

Is he your best friend? Mine is a total genius too. He would have busted out of here like a month ago.

He is my teacher, though I consider him very important to me.
