I spoke with our old friend the Huntress earlier. She confirmed a few suspicions. Her and her husband the Beastmaster were granted their powers by the White Wanderer. From him, she says, he used no artefact. She took it willingly, she says, but he didn't explain the full consequence. She was offered a shield, a way to defend herself. He asked for nothing in return, only to spread his message. She couldn't say exactly what that meant, that he was here. That his creatures are. She believed his daughter was important in some way, to this.

She believes they have all been used. That it all began with Matthias, and must end with him. She wants him dead, I am certain.

Incidentally, it seems it isn't her choice to ride unclothed. She says clothes burn when they touch her. A somewhat crass touch, I think.

I will be around the auction if anyone desires to find me.

Alright, that aside - I believe we owe you thanks, for having spoken to her. What is your take on her? On Yancai?

I don't think she cares about the actual people, or Miang-Si, in the slightest. I think she was raised in a cult and still believes everything she was taught, and therefore still believes she did nothing wrong. I think she wants the White Wanderer dead, and would help us with that goal, but at what cost I don't know. She clearly protects herself well. I don't believe her smart enough to trust us blindly.

I wouldn't hurry to put our trust in her too fast, just because she wants him dead.

I didn't say I trusted her, only that she would help us.

As for Mathias, I'm not certain. However I'm beginning to suspect stopping him may be the only way to stop this chain of chaos. I hadn't the impression he'd stop willingly.

It wasn't a lecture, I didn't assume you said that. I know you're pragmatic with your political schemes. I wouldn't like it, but I'm just one voice among many.

If we try to go after Matthias, whether it's to find out more about him or to take him out, then that's a whole new journey, isn't it? Not travelling to find our ways back home, but trying to save this one.

If you hadn't noticed, we appear to be following him regardless. Signs of him keep appearing wherever we go, with little effort from us.

I'm afraid that isn't a secret. However, it is a trait we share.

What I mean is that I feel like my main motivation for anything that's related to Matthias or to Anui is mostly that. I don't like that they're shrouded in mystery, I don't like a mystery I can't solve.
