[ Eda is smiling at the camera, projecting her usual peppy attitude. She steeples her hands into each other, flexes and cracks them a little. ]

So. Who else out there is trying to find out what's up with this wedding time loop situation?

[ She spreads her hands out and does a little waving motion. ]

Our very own Wei Wuxian and I have done a bit of spying on Firo's sister, thinking she might know more. She's been clutching letters and acting very distraught and all that.

[ Abruptly, she flattens. ]

Unfortunately, it was pretty much a bust. Just regular old bored rich housewife letters: her husband is asking how she is and when she's coming back and discussing something about their estate and sheep season, her doctor wrote her a prescription and her maid quit on her because of "irreconcilable differences". Apparently she's a fan of expensive hats, cause she bought a boatload of 'em for her seasonal wardrobe. [ Eda snorts at that. ] Rich people, am I right?

What else... the doctor's switching her to a lighter sedative and increased her iron. Guess she's tired from the all the hat shopping, hah!

Anyway, not sure any of this is useful, but, y'know... just throwing it out there.

Well, that's a bummer. I had a theory she was one of those rich widow types who mysteriously has four dead husbands and a boatload of life insurance money. Like, one more dead husband and people start talking.

Not that it would've helped Firo's problem.

Alas, just one husband, as far as I can tell. They do seem pretty well-off, tho. They got land and a whole herd of sheep.

I was hoping for once there was a mystery that was just...you know. Maybe a little vanilla? Not boring just...not ghosts, or death, or hell things. A good, old-fashioned murderess. I can solve that mystery.

[ Except apparently not since she's wrong. But anyway. ]

Does the well-off sheep farm mean there's a part of this planet that isn't completely rough, then? Why can't we see that bit?

[ Clara's off track, but she can't figure out the wedding thing. Time being weird is the Doctor's cuppa. ]

Now, where would the fun in that be? [ Eda grins wryly. ] Can't have the outsiders getting too comfortable, I guess.

I guess. Have you even really been magically kidnapped to a random planet if you don't have to worry about death every two weeks?

[ This time Clara smiles a little, but she is still thinking about the overall mysteriousness. ]

Doesn't seem very much like anyone cares about Firo's wedding. I kinda got the vibe everyone was shite-talking behind her back. Especially her sister; they don't seem close, anyway.

Yeah, the wedding party appears to be less than thrilled about the whole thing, y'know, they really seem to have something against the poor girl.

Seems a little rude, honestly. Don't come to the wedding if you don't approve! Let happy people be happy.

But I wonder why. Outside of only knowing each other for six months through letters. Marriages have happened on way less information than that.

Beats me. But I'm not even sure that's the type of concern I'm hearing. Mostly, it seems to amount to petty gossip.

Yep, that's what it looks like.

That sounds ominous. Someone as close to a noble lady as a chamber maid does not leave her post abruptly and with such words unless there is something seriously wrong.

Ohhh, your rich guy knowledge comes in handy here! So I'm guessing you think whatever she needs those sedatives for might be the cause of the quitting.

I don't know that the medication has anything to do with the quitting. But a lady's maid is her closest confidant, someone who would know their most intimate secrets that even family members do not. The reason why they stand above others in the hierarchy of servants is precisely because they have the potential on injuring their mistress's reputation irreparably. A good maid is an irreplaceable treasure. The loss of one for any other reason than the young lady getting married is concerning.

Well, too bad she isn't here, I bet she has dirt on everyone.

[ Eda comes from a pretty comfy background, but having spent a chunk of her life as a social outcast and wanted criminal who gets by selling trash, she's not too fond of rich people. ]

What I should do is go through her luggage. I bet there's all kinds of valuable stuff in there.

Where do they store the luggage on these things anyway? Is there a car just for bags? That would be convenient.
