So turns out the beacon can swallow you up and spit you right back out after several decades in your own world - in case everyone else is as unaware of that being a possibility as I was.

Name's Red for those of you who didn't know me before when I was teenage-shaped and brand spankin' new to life. For those who did, sorry for the awkward, weird social situation the beacon's just created for us. Now that I'm wiser-to-life, I feel it's better to be up front about some things. I can see people's souls, auras, whatever you wanna call 'em. So I know a lot about someone from the get-go, and I can't turn it on and off.

So there's some options:

A) I can tell you what I see when I meet you in full detail so you know what I know.

B) We both pretend like I don't see shit. Denial is not just a river in Egypt, it's a fun little coping mechanism.

C) My ability malfunctions - can't control this but it happens here.

D) I can make some colorful description up, and we roll with it, cause why not? Live your dreams.

If you got a preference, let me know or I'll assume B is it. I'll be at the bar, drinking about a thousand drinks, and grappling with sudden onslaught of memories and emotions and all that messy fun shit. Cheers, and Happy Train day.

[ Wrathion watches Red study the droid a moment, Vigilance meeting her gaze with unblinking anticipation.

The sense memory rolls over him of Anduin leaning back into his chest, at the hot springs, and discussing it. The sound of his voice, the way the priest had sipped his tea.

He turns to pick up the bottle of wine on the table, pours out two glasses. ]

The original suggestion was 'Tenacity', but that didn't quite roll off the tongue. Too many syllables.

( Red releases a breath, pushes herself up to her feet, and walks over to the table too, sitting down in the opposite chair. )

Tenacity. Yeaaaah. Not quite as catchy as Vigilance. But a noble effort. One of my talents is also seeking so y'know, we've got that in common.

( She gratefully takes the glass of wine though doesn't take a drink yet. ) Who'd you inherit the droid from?

[ His eyes flit up to Red briefly, expression closed off, then he slides the bottle aside and picks up his own glass. ]

His name was Anduin. Fair, blond, relatively serious demeanour.

[ As detached a description as he can manage. ]

( Red takes a long drink from her glass, hearing the detached description, the quickness with which he grabs his own glass. He does not elaborate, but the fact that the droid was left to him is sign enough they were close - closer than the description implies. )

Was he from your world or did you meet him here?

We were acquainted before we arrived here.

[ So yes, Anduin was from his world. ]

( Red has become quite familiar with the need for compartmentalization, and she's not gonna push, but the answer alone gives her some idea of how close they were on top of his having the droid. She takes another sip from her glass. )

...fucked up then that he left and you're inheriting the droid.

[ Wrathion nods, eyes drifting away from her towards the droid as he settles back in his chair. ]

Perhaps. But, he will be safer back home. More comfortable without the constant travel too, no doubt.

[ Surely, those are bright sides to this? ]

( Red takes a sip from her glass, aware of the necessity of compartmentalization - it's the name of the game for her these days. Never fully feel the shit, because it's just better that way to deal with it. She'd never push but wants to acknowledge that it's a fucked up situation. )

Yeah, no, he won't remember any of this at all so life will continue on for normal for him. ( She tilts her glass in his direction. ) Just meant it's really shitty for you.

Especially right after Alem... that was a Hell of a place. ( pun intended. )

[ This, at least, is true. He drifts his eyes back to her, flicks a wan smile. ]

War is relatively commonplace, in my world, as are undead armies and invading demons. The one advantage I have here, lack of surprise.

[ Although it can backfire too. Familiarity with concepts can mean he projects incorrect assumptions. Just because they both have undead and demons, doesn't mean they abide by the same rules. ]

( Red meets his wan smile with a soft smirk of her own. )

...yeah, what you told me about before was pretty clear you'd been through worse than a siege and Hell. ( It's not like he had an easy experience coming into his world - let alone all the other shit the world might hold. Her eyebrow raises though briefly, and her smirk widens. ) So you've never been surprised by anything here?

[ Surprised? He considers that, thoughtful. ]

I've not seen anything I struggled to believe possible.

[ So not surprised in that sense. Still: ]

At times, the behaviour of the magic is... unfamiliar.

[ That's more frustrating or confusing than surprising, however. Like knowing most of the words to a song, but finding unexpectedly some have changed. ]

( Red taps her fingers on the outside of her glass and then tilts her head with a little smile. )

So more like a sudden twist to something you already knew than anything that comes out of nowhere to smack you over the head in an exciting way, huh?

( She sips at her wine and then makes a mild face of commiseration. )

Sounds frustrating.
