[ooc: backdated to Sand In Your Eyes (end of)]

Hello, Hermione here, currently writing this from the exit of Ra'esh's temple.

We've found water for the sandworms in a pool, in a cave. We also found a woman in that cave. Her name was Marath, she was alive, and she was tied to the altar and chained. We've set her free - and if anyone has a word of criticism about that decision, by all means, convince me why any living soul should be chained to an altar and left to rot and to thirst and to die. I'll wait.

Anyway, Marath's people are the ones who occupied Uruksithar. She claimed she was left behind because she warned them not to go into the desert. Once freed, Marath ran (rather athletic for someone of her condition if you ask me) and left myself and Vi locked in the temple.

Don't worry, we're out now. Keep an eye out for Marath, if you can. And don't drink the water from the cave if you make it there, it felt...oozy.

Well, I probably would have called one of the many people in our group who are able to identify if someone is alive or dead and have asked them to confirm one way or the other first. Clearly, if she survived that long in such a condition, fifteen minutes more was not going to change much of anything, was it?

my point is that it shouldn't matter if she was alive or undead or whatever. leaving her there was out of the question

you ever been locked up like that until you lose track of time? just forgotten and left to rot? no one deserves that

I do not begrudge you your compassion or your kindness. They honor your character. I do believe they are sorely needed in trying times.

But I haven't had the luxury of letting compassion and kindness be my only guides for a very long time. And this decision, as compassionate as it may be, has consequences not just for our group, but for this whole world. And this is not something you should have to carry on your own.

So yes, I do believe it was ill-advised. But it is done. If it turns out that I was wrong and your decision was correct, you will have my apologies. In the meantime, my worry goes to the potential repercussions.

[ Ugh she hates it when posh sounding people talk too much. They always do, too. Vi still thinks he's an asshole. ]

i don't care what you think so you can keep your apologies and i told you sos. whatever happens if this ends up biting us in the ass i'll be the first one to deal with it
