I was ... given access to a surviving Remembrance fighter who was made prisoner after the attack on the Sanctuary. Not the most pleasant conversation, but after what some of you have uncovered in various parts of the city, the timeline of things is getting a little bit clearer.

Now, this man is just a commoner from Eidris, a bricklayer. His main motivation in joining this revolutionary fighting group seems to be being fed up with the situations of families being broken up by the schism, and wanting things to go back to how things were before. He gave me the impression the group was sizeable and many of them were like him, but it could have been bravado. I don't think he was very high up in the group, which means at the very least, the rank and file have been served this story that they are fighting to reunite the Citadel; It's unclear if this is a sincere goal of the group, or just something their leader tells them to get boots on the ground.

To the captive's knowledge, the goal of targeting only the Minaras side and abducting Arabella was to force a meeting between her and the leader of Eidris and make them agree to peace and reconciliation.

They thought Arabella coming to the Neutral Zone was a provocation considering the situation of people, families broken between the two halves of the cities and food scarce. He at least seems to say the Eidris side considers the Minaras side arrogant and cocky, so attacking them was a way to take them down a peg or two.

He doesn't know who made the guns or how they work, but they were given to the fighters by a man name Chrichter, who is also in charge of rounding up the troops when needed. I don't think that person is the leader of the group, but he's definitely one of the organizers.

The 'plague', or the 'sickness' as he called it, is relatively recent. Everything was fine five years ago, and then people started dying. They would be fine one day, then start coughing, then get a high fever, and then drop dead. He said people literally dropped dead on the streets, which seems to confirm what others have managed to find out.

I couldn't get any information on how the city authorities reacted. He refused to talk about it, saying everyone on the streets knows about it so he's not going to waste time about it. He was, in general, very reluctant to talk about the sickness at all, and even got angry when I tried to press for more.

It makes me wonder, after what we saw of her reaction earlier, if the Lady Arabella was meant to reach an agreement with the leader of Eidris, or attack him and provoke a renewal of hostilities.

Of course, I would not assume the captive would know. But it seems the Remembrance might be a group to try to get in touch with, if possible. Their reach seems rather long.

Unless this is but the first part of the attack - and if Arabella had been made to do her assault, then Eidris would have been attacked and destabilized also.

Ah. Hmm. Perhaps those who captured the weapons sent away from Taravast might be able to tell, as they held those for a while?

Chrichter. A name we should listen for, clearly, if it's not a name as easily discarded as the ones who failed in this attack.

It's more curious to not want to speak about the great ills, when it's part of how things are as they are today. Are families kept forcibly separated? There's no moving process to go between halves of the citadel? I was wondering about that, as well as those stranded below in the Mouse House when they have family up above.

Money always allows people access, clearly, but that seems extreme, to hold the citadel itself to growing divides.

Kept separated is what strikes me as so much more strange.

( he sounds displeased, and there are many, many reasons for that. )

In and of itself, I don't know what to make of the fact it continues on five years later.
