Since we find ourselves in a new location, and seem to have picked up some, maybe some introductions are due. I'm Hermione Granger, and I'm from England. I'm currently assigned the role of a tax collector, it's going great. [Sarcasm.] I'm sure it'll be fine - I was a modiste in Taravast, for heaven's sake...

[Quickly, a smile! Nervous, but a smile.]

What else - oh, I'm also a witch. [Which reminds her!] I'm going to start brewing potions again, since the ground isn't being rocked from side to side by the sea and the sea monster... Supplies are limited, and alternatives to the ingredients that I normally use can be weak on the ground, so I can't brew as many as I'd like. I'd ask that we all exercise some caution and not need them as much until I can get the reserves back up.

[There is a pause, as she opens her mouth to say I also don't like being treated like a child, because-] Huh. I...don't know how old I am.

[A frown, and she seems to forget that she's recording herself now, lost in her own musings:] Let's see, it was May when I come from, but was it the same month here? [To the screen, to her audience, the question:] Does this world even work in twelve months in a year? Seasons? It was quite crisp when I woke up in Taravast for the first time, maybe autumn? [And she pales.] Oh, gods, it's been almost a year...

[A shallow inhale - I want to go back home, we just ended a war, I need to see my friends, I need to grieve my friends, I need to - and a very shaky exhale. She cuts the feed off.]

[She pulls a face at the reminder, and don't linger on that too much.] I wish it could catch my vibe or whatever, I'm tired of explaining - to be frank, it might not be at all related to what I think it is.

There's a saying in my school, that wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure. I thought maybe it's from that, but it might also be that I got reassigned a device that used to belong to a courtesan. Who knows?

[She just wants to change it. Right now the vibe is 'fuck you, ocean'.]

Thanks. That's very nice of you, and honestly, surprised there's not more panic attacks given the whole situation so y'know. ( it's understandable is her point. ) What's something you know now that you wish you knew when you first arrived?

[It's the delusion she's lived with, that she's witty. Maybe more to the point, shes resourceful and capable of ignoring things she doesn't like, like that stupidly sexist user name.]

I wish I knew how long it would take, how complicated the political messes coule get, and how I should get a notebook and start keeping a daily journal. Also, made friends sooner, because allies in a fight are good and useful, but friends will lift you up even when there's peace.

Yeah, I've heard about some of the shit this group has gotten into with stealing from the wrong person or murdering the wrong person? Seems kinda messy. ( She wrinkles her nose though there's not really any judgement for that. ) Hey, the 'friends will lift you up even when there's peace' sounds pretty damn wise to me.

Is it hard making friends with the group? ( She's never been any good at it, but she was also Cerberus so the dead weren't really wanting to interact with her if they didn't have to. )

Woah, who'd you steal them from? Listen I'm all about Robin Hooding. ( Even if she was told she shouldn't steal from important people, or be careful about that- It's what Wei Wuxian's advice to her was. ) They weren't using it, and you don't have a lot of books at the moment, I'm sure so. There was a large library looked after by cultists who were into sacrificing people to a volcano - and they weren't using it to do more than hide a key in it, so we took the key and books.

Oh, I don't know if - [Praise is great, but validation from other girls always feel extra nice for some strange reason. Maybe because Red sounds really cool, in a way that reminds her of Ginny and makes her miss the exposure to that level of cool.]

Anxiety's kind of a dick, huh? ( She has kind of only recently become familiar to that feeling. Before the events that led her to escaping the Underworld, well, she followed orders. Not much to be anxious about when there's little choice to be had. )

Is there anything that helps with it? ( The anxiety. )

I don't know. Keeping busy? [Which is probably 100% not the right approach to it, but hey - who's healthy here?] At least keeping my head off it has helped before, but here...

[A pause, and Hermione pulls a face.] Am I going to have to meditate?

Isn't that like deep breathing and stuff? Like stuff they do during yoga? Maybe someone in the group knows how to do it, but... ( Red definitely does not. ) Well, I can't offer meditation lessons, but if you're ever stressed and want to vent, you can hit me up.
