[Anduin appears on the deck of the Pariah, toying with the blue amulet the priests have given him as he frowns in thought.]

As I am certain you are aware by now, both of our ships appear to be in the midst of a haunting.

The priests the captain has brought along with him have given their guidance as to how we might deal with these ghosts. They have also provided some of us with these.

[Anduin holds up his amulet.]

The amulets allow us to see and communicate with the spirits. I have used it to do so, and the conversation we had is why I come to you now.

The spirit I spoke to had much to say, but most notably — he claimed that there is something within the Pariah which is drawing them here. Something similar to whatever it is that is keeping them below, within the sea.

Earlier in our voyage, I had another conversation with a member of Captain Vane's group by the name of Mr Briggs. He had mentioned at the time that his position with the crew is transportation logistics of cargo, and that he is now on loan to Captain Quicksilver in that capacity. I did not think much of it at the time, but now...

[Anduin's expression is tight and drawn.]

Now I cannot help but wonder what it is that we are traveling with. And therefore I must ask of you —

Has anyone heard more about what it is we are carrying? In light of the news I have shared, what else have we learned of our voyage from members of the crew?

At the very least we may yet come to understand the dangers we are facing, here.

What would be easier, to be a pawn and not know it, or to know it and yet feel as if your only reasonable way home is to play along in his game?

I suspect it is always easier to be used if you do not know it.

It is when you become aware of that fact and the illusion falls apart that the challenge begins.

It is unfortunate that that is where the majority of ourselves find ourselves now.

In hindsight, I think I've been here before. [Here she goes again with telling Anduin things about her life home.]

My best friend, he was a bit of... Uh, a prophecy named him the only person who could end the reign of terror of a trully vile, horrible Dark Lord. But he wasn't really told this upfront - our headmaster laid out the breadcrumbs for us to end up fighting for the fate of the wizarding world, but he -

[Here, it comes back in a wave; the anger, the outrage, the pain at realising Harry was meant to head into the Forest to die.]

He neglected to say that he suspected my friend would have to die for the Dark Lord to die.

[If they were speaking in person, this would be about the point that Anduin would be reaching to take her hand in gentle reassurance. It is difficult to convey such a thing through voice alone, although he will do his best.]

That seems a fairly significant piece of information to keep from your friend. From all of you.

[Anduin takes in a breath, letting it out slowly.]

It is possible that your headmaster thought that he was protecting you, in keeping certain pieces of information to himself. What such people do not understand is that honesty is sometimes of the greatest value, in such situations.

I'm sure he thought as much, too. Unfortunately there's no way to revive the man and demand that he tell me if he was training Harry to accept self-sacrifice for the greater good.

I do not excuse his actions. It sounds to me that your headmaster established your friend's fate for him, whatever his intentions had been.

We should not let some prophecy dictate our fate, let alone a prophecy we have not been informed about. There are always other options. Your friend should not have been dealt such a hand, and for that I am sorry.

Prophecy is bollocks.
