( if you'd have taken a bet as to which starfleet officer ended up in the brig first you wouldn't have come out with this one. the fact that she's now back in the brig-- she's starting to really hate superstition )
Anyone that's allowed on deck want to tell me which direction the ship's pointing? Or what you see up there?
I'll even trade a story, something from your home for one of mine.
( she'd even take a story about the things that people have seen here but she's info seeking, find out where people are from, maybe when... she can't help the pirates but she can still be busy.
you could also potentially assume that she's a little bored )

There's writing in the cage.

I'll be by in a minute.

but she's stubborn and trying to truck on by like she's not sick at all )
I can't make all of it out. ( she starts as soon as he arrives ) But there are several names.
no subject
Because one just happened to be available. ]
Names. Past prisoners?

( she takes the notebook, writing in it the pieces that she can make out )
Have you heard of Samuel Vane?
no subject
Quicksilver Sam. The captain. [ Pirates and their nicknames. (Says the guy who has a brother who went by 'the Kraken'). ] Haven't had the pleasure of meeting him, but I've heard plenty.
He probably put most of them down here.

( she'll keep scribbling the names down )

Considering how easy it is to get thrown down here... I dunno. He's supposedly insane and possibly sailing us towards certain doom.
[ Then he just gets impatient and asks: ]
What are you writing?

Right. You never know what could be relevant. [ When he looks down he can see the lock that he busted open (what feels like ten minutes ago) was replaced. He must not have been the first one to break it. ]
Did you get anywhere with the barrier?
no subject
( she pauses in her writing )
I haven't found a mechanism for it, nor a way to scan it. It's not a physical barrier as I can pass it, though it's effective in its purpose.

He takes a renewed look around the room, just in case, but it looks just as unremarkable as before. ]
It's not the first time I've run into something that could block me. [ There was even that one time when he could only teleport to one specific hallway. He's starting to get a complex about it. ]
...Keep an eye out for mirrors.

Why?

[ Starting with how he still has a piece of a mirror wedged inside him. ]
I got... stuck once. There was a hall of broken mirrors I couldn't blink out of. They've been used in different ways.

( sure, because that's the word una )

[ He watches her closely for another few seconds, then shakes his head. ]
Well, I'm not going to wait around for them to recognize me as your accomplice. If you get bored, I've got some equations in the back of that notebook you can look over. [ If she can figure out what they mean, he'll know he made the right gamble. ] Don't... get too comfortable down here. It's not a great look.
