I've travelled to many cities, many villages, even before yours. Some of the people there have never travelled outside of their own village, may never even have dreamed of it but they as much as anyone appreciates hearing the stories of what the world is like. ( even if to them they are only stories, many of the events are disbelieved as true as they may be )

I suppose even before I travelled I was as unaware as they are, knowing little more of the places I would see than the stories I'd heard or the people I'd meet. The people we can have around us are the ones we need to trust, to not need to question whether they should be with us, whether we can talk to them or be with them. ( she might not blush quite as easily as she did as a girl but that doesn't mean she really wants to get too descriptive about sex. though when some of the teenagers are starting to leave maybe that's better )

And what we do shouldn't be questioned, shouldn't be doubted. Are those you trust ones you completely trust? Or have you had doubts before. Certainty, honest knowledge is more blessed to have than you can know.

Well, trust is certainly very important. Though there is also something to be said about lovely experiences and learning from those who are knowledgeable.

[ Probably not helpful in the case of one of the curses but he's too amused to not chime in.

Abstinence is not really the best choice, on the whole. There are exceptions, of course, but still. ]

Hmm... there are a small number of exceptions, but on the whole, not learning from those leads to a life of misery at worst and lack of satisfaction at best. Why would anyone wish that upon others?

As having a rather wide view on the matter, I would beg to disagree.

Hardly the best instruction when you are making a wide open announcement to a rather wide range of people. What is good advice for one might be abysmal for many others, after all.

That said, I see at least some of the reason for this announcement and while I understand the logic, I still disagree with the extremity of the message. Would you be so kind as to share the other of the two curses you were aiming for?

Atonement for sins of promiscuity and greed. Misplaced vows, faithlessness.

Yet abstinence is not something many people can maintain. Faithfulness and knowledge and care are better paths to protect people from such sins.

Or even knowing where such painful attentions can be redirected to where they will be handled safely.

Curses are often emotion, seldom reason.

And so, more emotion and less reason will amend them?
