Naturally, if it were easy to guess it would not be entertaining...especially since you showed your face. So either you are much older than you look or much younger. Though I must ask, does the position of admiral come with a salary?

You'd have the highest rank in the most prestigious and powerful naval force I've seen all day. So--unrestricted access to the entire fleet's official funds. Sounds good, right?

Oh, my! So I'd have unfettered access to everyone else's hard earned money? [As if anyone has any money...but this isn't about money but just about having a little fun to pass the time, right?] That sounds so tempting if I were the suspicious type I'd think it a scam. [Haha.] I don't suppose I can get such a grand promise in writing?

Captain is quite a step down from admiral. More-over, if the admiral's salary is everything everyone earns then there's not much leftover for a captain's salary is there? I have a fiance who needs me to support him financially.

One demotion isn't that bad. But as to the pay? Yeah. That's how the Republic does it, at any rate. [He shrugs.] Literally none of us get paid. It's all black market and bartering. And you seem like you'd do pretty well with that.

I have to admit, while I have heard of making cuts to military budgets that seems rather extreme.
