Two questions.

One: Do we really, like...have to take sides in this thing? 'Cause this is just a gang war with stupid outfits, and I've had enough of that for a lifetime. Literally.

Two: So...what's up with the necromancer guys? I woke up surrounded by a bunch of weirdos when I got here and I'm pretty sure they were necromancers. Which sounds absolutely insane to say.

Oh yeah, and three. This is hell, right? Way more weird Italian people than I expected, way less geung-si. If anyone's seen a prick wearing a stupid fedora and callin' himself Dogeyes, let me know. I owe him a beatdown. [And more.]

No, we don't have to. Everybody's free to go their own way, but I'd like to secure transport off this planet in case we need it. Apparently this gets us closer to that.

I don't know half the words you used for the rest of that, but no, as far as I know this isn't anybody's hell. This place is just weird and doesn't give a damn what's supposed to be possible or not. Although everything I know about the galaxy is probably Republic propaganda, so this might all be common, I don't know.

And you've got a deal on Dogeyes, if you do the same with any brown-robed buggers called Jedi.

I can never tell how much these translators manage to pick up. We might need to get some basic vocabulary laid out, otherwise you're going to have a tough time here.

[He's got no idea what this Dogeyes actually did, but he'll take that description at face vaule for now.] The Jedi enslaved me and my brothers. Thousands are dead now because of them. Hard to get more evil than that.

[He's honestly still not used to being able to say it in the first place, so

He's not sure what to say either.]

Well.

Now you know. At least there's none of them on this planet, as far as I've seen. And if your Dogeyes hasn't shown up among the offworlders so far, he's probably not here either.

Thanks.

Is the planet treating you alright so far? Got anybody here who speaks the same language as you?

Alright, at least that's something. [It's still not Galactic Basic for some reason, but hey, apparently there's more galaxy out there than he'd realized.]

I'm trying to make sure we all learn bits of each other's languages so we can communicate if the translators go down. The local languages are useful, but everybody works best with their own native languages when there's an emergency to deal with, right?

It doesn't have to sound pretty or get complicated, just enough to be understood and let people know what's up. Left, right, run, stop, safe, danger, you okay, yes, no, that kind of thing. You've got half a language more than me already, so I'm pretty sure you'll do okay. [Neither of those languages are this Chinese or English he keeps hearing about. He's been pretty good at mangling both of them, when he's tried practicing so far.]

This isn't hell... I don't think hell looked like that the last time I saw it, at least.

And I think it might be best not to meddle, personally, but well...

I've been to Ghost City, at least. It's different.

... Like a pantomime, but with drawings? Or a shadow puppet theater?

[Those are moving pictures, right? And they tell stories, and usually there's a storyteller too!]

( emilia di carlo wishes this was hell. she's a devil to wed and a mission to see through.

but he mentions the necromancers, and it takes precedence. she can later ask what he finds so strange about italians.
)

What did these necromancers want?

( that's not concerning or anything! )

Be careful, signore. Blood is their currency, and their leverage.

As far as I know, this is indeed not hell - not everyone who has been brought here has died, and some remember things from a later time than others, including said others who are here being there, I believe.

As to why we need to participate - aside from the pleasure of taking part in the political game, which is, I'll admit, an acquired taste - our presence here has been, on the whole, to strengthen certain parts in the global conflict in this world. Should we die, we are likely to strengthen the undead, too, and the gang war you see here is on the mellower side compared to the global conflict. But for us to stay out of that fight, or at least only join it at our will, and to perhaps find our way to a place where we can return to our worlds, for those who can - those things need a lot of resources.

The political game here is part of the acquisition of such resources.
