In Service of the Esteemed Vannozza Spina
Speaking Only Their Truth and Their Wisdom
Humbly Puts before the Piazza:
To send men armed with blades to people who are rightly worried for the future of their homeland, is that really what the just and fair ruler of that land should do?
If a subject cannot bring a grievance to their Lord for fear that they will be accused themselves and made to be criminals, then where is fairness in the world ? Can you really entrust the future prosperity of this glorious city to one so ill-tempered he would turn on his own people without the least self-examination in his own conduct when they admonish him?
Truly, this is the mark of a weak temperament. The stars did not err when they showed me the vision of this city ruled by a strong but fair hand, that of a lady of repute who can heed the people's concerns.
May Fortune Ever Favour Don Bonaccorso!
