Hello everyone, this is Lily.

Regulus and I have created a means of transporting the belongings of the group efficiently. Given that most of our supplies were lost I thought it prudent to be able to bring everything we can, as a precaution against future setbacks.

That said, I'd also be able to assist in the transport of our livestock, should those of you that keep them want a hand in making their move easier as well.

I am hesitant to give more detail over these crystals, but I encourage you to come find either myself or Regulus. Given that there aren't many rooms left, I imagine this won't be difficult.

[ Lily won't be far away from the three small wooden boxes she and Regulus salvaged from one of the storage barns and left tidily against the far wall of what was once the study. Charmed with an Extension Charm the boxes are actually about six feet tall by three feet wide on the inside, with a depth of about three feet. Not very comfortable for a person, but they can hold a fair bit of stuff. ]

[ The thought was dismal and she shook her head at Slick. ]

Here's hoping that's not something we have to worry about - for a multitude of reasons.

[ Their group already had its fair share of issues. ]

The animals? Yes, I can change them into something small, pocket-sized, you wouldn't even need to use one of the boxes.

You were right to keep quiet about it. [He doesn't trust this whole group, but there were enough decent types here who were ready to kick heads in if somebody really started acting up. That was about as good as you could hope for, really.

And then the conversation went weird again.]

...We're compressing animals now?

[lancifolium]

At least over the open airwaves, as it were. [ Pausing, her voice dropped to a whisper. ] That Merchant bloke's just a bit spooky.

[ She shook her head at the question, looking surprised. ]

No, just changing them into something else, like a little figurine or a goblet, so we can transport them.

[ Because that didn't make it weirder at all. ]

[He brings a hand to his face, just... letting that idea sit there for a moment.

Nope. Ten seconds later and it still doesn't make sense.]

So that's a thing you can do.

[Unless she was messing with him, but she hadn't seemed the type so far.]

Does that happen to people as well, or...?

It is. I learned how to in school. [ She nodded mildly in agreement. ]

No, you can't. It's actually quite dangerous to use this sort of magic on another person. People can learn how to transform themselves into things like animals, but it's quite a rare ability, and the process is very difficult.

[sergeant_slick]

"Dangerous" means it can happen, though. [And he doesn't sound happy about that.] But we knew this stuff was dangerous anyway.

[And they're just going to have to deal with that.] Well, glad you're on our side, then. [He changes the subject, gesturing to the boxes.] D'you have a way to hide the insides of these if somebody opens them?

Not successfully. You'd only do it to someone else if you meant to try and harm them terribly. [ Especially without a trained mediwizard very close by. Lily's skin crawled at the thought of how wrong something like that could go. ]

Hiding the bottoms can be done, but that involves a good deal more moving parts and components. It's more the sort of thing that might be manufactured by an expert craftsperson, or team of them really, rather than built by two people. They're very difficult to make.

[Well he was just going to try and ignore that nightmare topic for a minute while he tried to figure out how to make a box look like a box.]

But it--hmm. [He leaned in again, trying to get a sense of how the inside of it actually worked.] Couldn't we attach a hinge to the inside of the lid or something? Sort of--[He gestured, trying to get across the idea in his head and failing to do so to any satisfactory degree.]

I'm wishing I was an engineer right now. [Half the problems he'd encountered so far were engineer business.]

Like a trapdoor? [ Lily frowned pensively as she watched his hands, and attempted to discern what he was implying with that gesture. ]

It's a rather clever thought, engineer or no. I can lock it, magically, but hiding its actual capacity would be very wise. We'll have to keep a close eye on them.
