[She takes a breath and grows a little more somber.] This time I am not going to forget you guys. That's the best part of this for me. I know things haven't always been perfect. One day maybe I'll be one of them too. I promise I'll protect you. My family will help you get set up there. We're actually pretty good at taking people in when they need to start over. Think about it, okay?

[A tear does shake loose. Kamala laughs wetly.] And... wow this is hard. I guess endings always are. Final thoughts? I hope Cossette finds peace. [She holds up her fingers to show scout's honor. The feed ends there so she can have a good cry before responding.]

[She doesn't have to ask what a selfie is, aren't you proud of her? At least in this way, she is not an old.]

[Goose hops up on Carol's shoulder and shoves her cute little feline face in between their heads, positioning herself into the ideal selfie pose.

Carol shifts to lean in closer.]

I wonder if Fury found homes for all the kittens. He better not have kept any of them, Priscilla would not have it.

[Kamala coos at the picture they make now that Goose has joined them. She snaps the picture with a few variants ranging between silly and cute expressions. She turns to Carol once it is done to ask the question:] Priscilla? Who is Priscilla?

I guess she's going by Varra these days, given ... everything.

[Everything being Secret Invasion, this is the only part of it the narration will acknowledge.]

[Kamala takes this new information well. That is to say, she's screeching like a banshee and jumping up and down.] I knew it! He has such a grandpa vibe! I bet his wife is so cool. And beautiful! Aamir probably gossiped with him about his super cool wife too. Maybe they can form a league of awesome wives or something.

[BRB forming a comic about this in her brain as they speak!]

[She laughs.]

Varra is pretty cool. She's one of the Skrull liaisons to SHIELD and SWORD.

[She'll give it another second to sink in that Fury's wife is also an alien.]

[The wheels whirl slowly, but surely. Kamala soon gasps aloud at this critical reveal!!!] She's an alien! Nick Fury has a star-crossed romance!

[She makes a soft, happy sound.] Will he be mad if I use this for future stories?

[She can use Carol for cannon fodder all she wants, but Fury worked so hard to keep his relationship under wraps. She's not going to blow that by Kamala slipping it into her fanfic.]

[Kamala huffs out a sigh.] Okay, okay. No promises about the fanfic I write in my brain though. That sounds so romantic. I want to make like a whole musical in my head for them.

As long as it stays in your head, that's fine. Though knowing Fury, he would probably dig a musical for their love story.
