How long has it been since we've been allowed to see the night sky? Has anyone managed to pry their windows open? Where I'm from, peaceful nights are often spent drinking beneath the moonlight.
[ There's the sound of clinking ceramic--clearly, he isn't letting anything stop him from drinking, at least.
It's frustrating that he hasn't been able to explore to his heart's content, that he's cut off from investigating the mysteries of this place. How much longer does he have, here in this place of relative peace? What sort of place will they go to next? Is it worth the risk to wait? (No. He knows it's not.)
A brief pause, and then he continues, though his breathing sounds...not ideal. ]
My apologies for the late introduction. My name is Zhou Xu; I arrived not long before we left the last city.
It's been brought to my attention that we have a number of healers among us. I seek, at your convenience, Wen Qing, Anduin, Nynaeve, and Hermione. Any others with an understanding of medicine, healing, or magic would be appreciated as well.
[ Far more open and blatant than he'd ever been before, but he's running out of time. He simply can't afford to be discrete any longer. Just before he ends the transmission, something occurs to him: ]
--Ah. I've heard that I've been here before. If you once knew me, I'd also like to meet. Thank you.

video; un: glow is me
Still. We must do what we can for one another. How can I help?
[ He's noticed the odd breathing, but better not to make assumptions. ]
Re: video; un: glow is me
[ He doesn't switch to video, but he does appreciate the visual. ]
I am--ill, of sorts. In a way that requires outside intervention. Possibly magical, at this point. I have been told you might be able to assist.

But these things are best determined in-person. With your permission.

Yes, naturally. At your convenience.

I'm in the room [ describes where his room is. ]
Ah, are you familiar with Wen Kexing, by any chance?

He, ah. Might hover.

I'm sure I won't mind. He's welcome to stay.
I'll be on my way shortly.

You have my thanks.

Anduin's glad to have traded out the robes and togas of Ephes for something a little more familiar, a white button-down and navy-blue tailored waistcoat atop dark, primly-pressed trousers. The wardrobes here were helpful, at the very least.
He offers a courteous incline of his head when the door opens. ]
I hope you weren't waiting too long.
no subject
[ Zishu's not a particularly big fan of the close-fitting clothes the wardrobe seems insistent on supplying himi with. Even with many layers, it feels as though he's far too on display. While he dresses properly for dinner, in their rooms, he's usually dressed down. Thin robes, and a heavy cloak to ward off the chill. With the knowledge of guests, he had briefly considered redressing, but Anduin arrived too quickly for him to make a decision about that.
He returns the nod with a casual salute, one hand cupped loosely in the other, before gesturing him inside. ]
Not at all. Thank you for coming so quickly.
no subject
[ Anduin's eyes flicker over the man as he steps inside, a cursory glance to see if anything might be overtly amiss with him. ]
Though perhaps you might spare some more details as to the exact nature of this ailment we'll be seeing to.
no subject
[ He's thin, a little too thin to be healthy even at a glance. His lips are bloodless, too, but he moves relatively smoothly, easily, despite his clear exhaustion. ]
How much do you know about qi manipulation?
no subject
The vital energy of the body, yes? I've picked up some concepts in my studies, though I wouldn't claim to be any sort of expert.
[ There's a brief pause. ]
Just enough to incorporate what I do know into my own healing methods.
no subject
[ He gestures for Anduin to take a seat at the table, folding his robes beneath him as he takes his own seat. There's tea, of course, and a few extra cups--he pours for the other man, sliding it across the table. ]
The body's energy, yes. It follows the paths our meridians trace around the body. Disrupting the flow of qi with pressure, needles, or qi along the meridian paths can be both curative and destructive, depending on what is done.
[ A brief pause, as his eyes flick up. ]
You know this already?
no subject
I'm familiar. The Light works in similar ways, another force to be found in all living things. Channeling it to heal, to mend, is a study that takes great discipline. Years of learning. One of my teachers was over ten-thousand years old, and even claimed he could know everything there was.
[ A small smile touched his lips. ]
So I sought many, many teachers. A few spoke of this qi, or something akin to it.
no subject
No one can know everything. [ He can't help the way he scoffs, shaking his head. ] If one has learned all he can from the past, then he should look to the future. But, yes. There are others here who are able to use and manipulate it the way I do.
Essentially, my situation is somewhat unique. My meridian paths were disrupted, stagnating my qi. If all seven points had been struck at the same time, it would have rendered me instantly mute, blind, deaf, and paralyzed. Individually shattered, as is my situation, I have instead been losing my senses slowly but steadily. Death is inevitable, in both cases.
wow i totally missed the 'not' in 'not even' i'm doing great -_-
I see. A rather grim prognosis. May I?
[ He lowers the cup, before lifting his hands in open gesture. He has been called here to heal, but consent comes first.
Even in a situation this dire. ]
Re: wow i totally missed the 'not' in 'not even' i'm doing great -_-
[ It's appreciated anyway. Zishu offers a hand, wrist up, unsure if that's what Anduin is asking for. ]

The priest nods and takes the offered hand into his own, broad and calloused, and allows his eyes to fall shut. A soft, warm glow builds in his palm as he utters a soft prayer, searching for those shattered threads of vitality within him.
Even if he can't heal him entirely, perhaps some relief can be offered. He too was once shattered, every bone in his body broken, and the Light had still managed to mend him together once more.
And the Light, at its core, fosters hope. ]
no subject
[ He inhales sharply at the sensation. It's warm--not entirely dissimilar and, simultaneously, nothing at all like the way it feels when foreign qi is channeled through him. Anduin will find his pulse shaky and weak, tremulous, and if it's something he can tell, his meridians are withered, his qi pooling and stagnating in places it should not. ]
no subject
His brow furrows in concentration, the air around him stirring, and the glow where their hands join brightens, warmth pouring through their connection. To the other man, it might feel like sinking into a soothing bath.
It is but a gentle push, encouraging that energy to stir, to follow the natural flow as it had once before...
But if there is any sign of resistance or discomfort, he is ready to relinquish his hold. ]
