I know that ash is commonly used for cleaning, but I do not believe it is quite as effective on stone or hardwood floors. And if you'd like to burn something, the kitchen might not be the best place. We have room outside.

Also, I do believe there was talk about purifying the lake and the house after our... guests departed. Has more thought been put into that?

It is kind of odd to have a pond and a well in a farmstead... unless the pound is used to house live fish before consumption, but with this cold, would it even matter? Or maybe it is used as a small water reservoir closer than the lake... but there is a well, I believe, so what is the point then?

It might be strictly ornamental, I suppose.
