I've been able to convince the shy... bird-like servants to all me to look at their injuries and tend to them. In the course, two of them told me to beware of Julien.
I haven't bothered speaking with the man. What have any of you seen or noticed that would back up the servant's concerns? Such things aren't offered without reason.

Everything we know of the Prince is secondhand, really.

What's your name? Your true one, not the one used on these things. I'm Nynaeve.
no subject
My name is Deimos. It's my pleasure to meet you Nynaeve.

I'm as responsible for that lack as anyone. Well met, Deimos. I hope to speak with you again soon.

"must not"
interesting words to use

Which isn't even the point. Julien is, if even the servants here can't trust him. And he can't trust the prince around us. Even if we're supposed to be here at the prince's tolerance.

'monster' seems a bit of a stretch, doesn't it?
no subject
I'm not sure where else you're choosing to apply the word. People hardly need to be monstrous to be unworthy of trust.

( that seems to be stretching the limits of the word, but she'll go with the terminology nynaeve used. )
i met a candlestick who didn't seem that worried about it

The... someone turned into a candlestick and they don't care?

but it's clear they're not exactly thrilled

Resignation, yes. People often give up too soon.

Servants often have the best sense of their master's character and what goes on behind closed doors. But some may hold grudges, and others may rush to hasty conclusions.
A burned gown was found hidden an an alcove. Isn't that curious?
no subject
Not curious. Curious would be the strangeness of the roses. A burned gown hidden in an alcove? The servants leaving it untouched? The rest of the prince's family "gone."
Sure, if you want to call that curious.
