text ⚔️ un: the one with the flute
I see introductions are all the rage these days. I'll make mine brief.
My name is Deimos. I've a tadpole inside my brain that threatens to turn me into a hideously horrid creature known as a mind flayer for those of you familiar with the term. My current theory is that due to being in this other world, I am now beyond the reach of the brain that can issue the command for me to transform. Additionally, I have no true recollection of my past before the tadpole; I am told the amnesia is unrelated. And to wrap up my honesty, I have violent urges that sometimes overtake me against my will. Again, likely to be unrelated to the tadpole.
I explain all this for two reasons:
1. Should any of the above be similar to your own situation, we might benefit from good conversation.
2. If none of the above is similar, you all deserve to know whom you sleep near so that you may take action should I ever become a threat and begin to transform.
Now, all that aside that does lead me to a question to help me better understand my new companions: what is your own strangest adventure you experienced in your own home world? I look forward to seeing your responses.

What manner of horrid creature?
no subject
A mind flayer. Somewhat humanoid except some vaguely exposed brain parts, large tentacles coming from the mouth, and a mouth full of razor sharp teeth.

Incontrollable?

Perhaps you will come across opportunities here that you never could before.

But if I were to be honest, which is the best way for me to go, there was an incident once... Where I woke in the night to find I had murdered an innocent girl with no recollection of doing so.
no subject
That would be an unacceptable outcome, nonetheless.
What have you done to fight them?

Oh, and to answer your question: lots of strange stuff happens in my world, but the weirdest thing I personally experienced was watching myself turn to dust in the bathroom mirror.
no subject
If you watched yourself turn to dust, how are you here now? ( like damn, he thought he had it bad! )
no subject
I was resurrected after five years. It's not quite amnesia, but I know how it feels to lose time.

Can you be restrained when you lose control?
And my strangest adventure, hmm... yeah, it's probably when I invaded Edo Castle together with another girl to save our men and end a horrible government experiment. I'd say that probably counts as pretty weird!
no subject
Whether I can or not mostly depends on if there are people who can restrain me. Normal rope should do it, so long as it is thick and tied well.
It sounds more brave to me.
no subject
And thank you! I'd like to think so. Even though it was everyone else who really did all of the fighting. Though I'd like to think at least my wits helped.

And hey, don't worry, there's a bunch of very capable people here who could put you down if it came to that.

I am getting that impression, and it is more relieving than you might think to hear.

I've heard of open books before, and I strive to be one myself these days, but this is impressive. What do you transform into you, or is it still your general self but with the overwhelming desire to murder?
no subject
As for the transformation, it's unrelated to the murderous desires surprisingly. I don't know what happens the further those go, beyond more blood shed... but if the tadpole transforms me it will transform me into a creature called a mind flayer. Tall, kind of purple like with orange orbs for eyes, and tentacles and teeth on their sides where it's mouth is.

She is taken aback by his straightforwardness. It's far more than she has managed, evidenced by how she ensures this conversation remains private. ] I'm sorry. I know what it is like to remember nothing of your past life.
[ To be consumed by violent urges that are frightening to the part of you that does not want to wound. ]

The strangest... adventure that I experienced was transplanting a golden core, the source of cultivation powers in my world.

That sounds intriguing with the little you've said. I'd love to hear more.
