[ So this is very off-center, but you will still be able to see the face of a young woman, her black hair parted into two braids, to each of which a ring is attached. She peers at the camera -- well, her pendant -- curiously and with uncertainly. ]

Hah -- uhm -- hello?

Hi. I was told by Miss Karsa, I think that was her name, that this pendant will enable me to talk to those who share my plight, even if they are far away. And I, uh, wanted to try it out, essentially. We don't have anything like this where I'm from. How strange!

[ A tentative, awkward smile. ]

Anyway. So there's a group of us who come from other... worlds? Several of them? And we're trying to get to the "beacon". That's what I remember.

[ She claps her flat hands together. ]

Well, then! My name is Rin. Nice to meet everyone. I hope we will get along.

[ A beat. ]

I have a question. Is everything in this place as if you were in a fairy tale? I never quite know what's real or not! It's really unnerving. A little guidance would be appreciated.

[ She gives a small bow in her seated position. ]

It's unlikely to happen right now - this isn't like the time when we were placed in the fortress that rested over hell and told to fight until beacons could be activated.

Yes, but this doesn't feel like a nightmare yet.

I guess maybe it wouldn't, if you've been here for a while and have seen worse.

For me, the whole being thrown into an entirely different world thing is plenty nightmareish right now!

Oh, my gods - of course, you're right! It's callous of me to shrug off the weirdness of this world altogether.

I'm sorry for that. When did you arrive exactly?

[ Huh, now that is a swerve. Rin just nods in acceptance. ]

A few days ago. It's just... been a lot to take in.

[reparo]

It would be, yes. It probably doesn't help that there's such a variety when it comes to either the worlds or times each of us come from.

[revengeisalie]

Wait -- times, too?

[ Look of slightly horrified disbelief, then Rin just sighs. ]

Well, I guess it makes sense...

[reparo]

Oh yes - very much true. You wouldn't be able to tell, because we're almost all of us joining in on the strange manner of dressing here, but I've met people from my future here. And people from my pasts.

[revengeisalie]

[ Rin's eyes widen. ]

Whoa... did you ask them questions?

[reparo]

I am unfortunately a very curious person, so yes, to an extent.

[revengeisalie]

I... I think I feel you on that. The "unfortunately curious" part. Hehe...

[ She awkwardly rubs her neck. ]

What did you find out?

[reparo]

As a fellow curious person, would you want to read through my notes of this world? They're a bit jumbled, notes of the journey so far, and trying to figure out some of the things related to this place, but I'll lend them to you.

As for what I found out, from people who say they come from the future, I think it's a parallel world. Where most things are similar - for example, countries and broadstrokes history moments - but there are differences.

[revengeisalie]

[ A gasp! ] Oh, you'd do that? I'd love to have a look at your notes! I'll need to familiarize myself with this world if I am to survive here, after all.
