To make matters worse, it sounds like the dead child--what he assumes made Jayce call it quits--was a direct result of this. Maybe Vi didn't see who or what killed the child. It doesn't really matter. Jayce built a weapon out of their technology, and took it down into the Undercity, and escalated.
