Hello? Hello, is this thing on?
Huh, cool.
Anyway, uh. Hi, I'm Wrench, and this newbie has two questions. One, is there anything the Wicked Witch of the West might not have shared that might be important? [he means Karsa] And two, what's to stop a guy from using this piazza thing to share a few dozen dick jokes with the entire city?
[he probably won't actually do that. maybe. maybe not. someone please talk him out of it]

( squint. emilia decides she can circle back to that later. first, she makes sure their conversation is indeed private. despite assurances this... 'network' is as safe as it's ever going to get, she is skeptical by nature. and her answer is macabre, but nonetheless what she first thought of. )
There are those who go into town to make deals with Necromancers. Should you ever find yourself in a desperate situation where they are needed, never give them your blood. They'll sell it to the highest bidder.

Shorthand for 'I don't know.'
[also unimportant in the grand scheme of things, at the moment, and so he doesn't give it any more thought beyond that]
And let me guess -- if they have my blood, they can do creepy shit with it. [like maybe make him into one of the zombies???]

Blood is power, and those dealing in these dark arts are usually thirsty for more of it.
Those with a good amount of common sense tend to steer clear, but take last month, for example.
Several among us were poisoned fatally, and the Necromancers were among the only few offering a cure.
( oh! there's another nugget of advice. be very judicious when imbibing food and drinks. )

Cool, cool.
So, are they working for the BBEG
the big bad evil guy
or are they just dicks?
[he's yet to meet Anurr, as of this message, though that will soon be remedied. either way, he's aware of him, at least. Karsa mentioned him]

can't wait to unleash it all and confuse her extremely ancient and infuriating demon. )
From my understanding, they are mostly a group and district unto themselves.
Their main focus is death and defying it.
They gather power and knowledge for themselves, and like to push boundaries with experimentation.
If they are aligned with any ( pause ) BBEG, it's not information that's been disclosed.
( to her, at least. and yes, there might be several big threats, not just the one BBEG. that'd be too easy... )

[as much as the idea that there's more than one big threat doesn't thrill him, that might actually be good news. this won't be the first time he's turned on group of bad guys on another, or at least tried, and then sat back and watched the chaos]
But, so, were either of them in charge of the zombies I woke up to, when I got here?

Alongside the Attaryl, they're the main sorcery schools in Taravast.
Many moons ago, it is said the two schools futilely sought to slaughter each other, before the Bessis gained the upper hand. These dead zombies, as you call them, were once members of the Attaryl.
The Bessis kept them for their own purposes.

[can you send a meme in a texting format that's not really texting? he doesn't know, but he's sure going to try and impress the mental image of the This is Fine meme on her. the Attaryl send him memories of fire because they burned to death at the hands of the Bessis is what he's taking from the information he's been presented with, so far]

( has anyone ever told him that? )

Also, it's just Wrench.
[no honorifics, please. it's kind of horrifying to be sir, even in Italian or whatever]
